Carmen <br />AN ORDINANCE SUBMIZ`I'ING TO '.ifiE ELECTORS <br />OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, A PROPOSID <br />AMENDMENT ZU THE VILLAGE CHARTER <br />PERTAINING 'lU THE CIVIL SEIZVICE <br />CLASSIFICATION OF DEPARTMENT HEADS, <br />PROVIDING FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES <br />IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND DECLARING <br />AN EMEIZGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, ZfIAT: <br />Section 1. Pursuant to Article X of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />there is hereby proposed to the electorate of the Municipality, an Amendment to <br />Article V entitled "Civil Service Comnission," Section 6(B), entitled <br />"Classification of Service," of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, which <br />shall be substituted for the currently existing Article V, Section 6(B) as <br />follows: (deleted material appears like and new material appears like <br />THIS) <br />'I'he Civil Service of the Municipality is hereby divided into the <br />unclassified and the classified service. The Civil Service Commission <br />shall determine which employees of the Municipality shall be within the <br />classified service and which shall be within the unclassified service, <br />subject to the following provisions: <br />(1.) All regular full-time members of the Police Department, <br />}neludi-Fig-the-G-rie€-o€-Fol-iee, shall be in the classified service. <br />(2.) All regular full-time members of the Fire Department, <br />}nel-tdi-xg-the-A-re-GI:rief-, and all other officers of the Fire Department <br />above the rank of fireman, whether they be full-time or part-time <br />employees, shall be in the classified service. <br />(3.) The Clerk of Council and the Secretary to the Mayor, <br />whether they be full-time or part-time employees, shall be in the <br />unclassified service. <br />(4.) Except as otherwise provided in this Charter or the <br />general laws of Ohio, all other regular full-time errployees of the <br />Municipality, other than those serving a probationary period of <br />employment, shall be in the classified service. <br />(5.) Except as otherwise provided in this Charter, all <br />regular full-time employees of the Municipality, including tlie F'ire <br />C-14ief-apA al1 officers of the Fire Department above the rank of
