ORDINANCE N0. 86-15 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Charter Review Commission <br />~'~~` AN ORDINANCE SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE OF <br />4 <br />MAYF IELD VILLAGE, OH I0, PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO TH E <br />V ILLAGE CHARTER AND PROVIDING ALL NECESSARY <br />PROCEDURES THEREFOR. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section_1_. The Charter Review Commission of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, having been elected in November, 1985 in accordance <br />with Article XI of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, having <br />completed its review of the Village Charter proposes the following <br />amendments to be submitted to the electors of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />at the regul~~rly scheduled General Election to be held in the <br />municipality~:on November 4, 1986. The proposed Charter Amendments and <br />the question~~ to appear on the ballot are as follows: <br />A. Shall Section 1 of Article III of the Charter of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio be amended by deleting the <br />current Section in its entirety and substituting <br />therefor the following wording: <br />"The legislative powers of the Municipality, <br />except as otherwise provided by the Charter <br />and by the Constitution of the State of Ohio, <br />shall be vested in a Council of seven (7) <br />members, each of whom shall be elected at-large <br />for a term of four (4) years commencing on the <br />first day of January next after their election, <br />or until their successors are elected and qualified." <br />The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: <br />(A) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />be amended to increase the size of Council <br />from five (5) members to seven (7) members <br />all elected at-large? <br />In the event that the above question shall be adopted <br />by the electorate then Section 8, Article XII of the <br />Charter, pertaining to Ward Boundaries, together with <br />the Charter Appendix establishing the Ward Boundaries, <br />shall be repealed in their entirety. <br />B. Shall Section 1 of Article III of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended by deleting the current Section <br />in its entirety and substituting therefor the following <br />wording: <br />"The legislative powers of the Municipality, except <br />as otherwise provided by the Charter, and by the <br />
