ORDINANCE N0. 87-1 1/19/87 <br />INTRODUCED BYo Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTING NEW SECTION 137.01 CREATING <br />THE POSITION OF BUILDING COMMISSIONER/SERVICE <br />DIRECTOR, REPEALING EXISTING SECTIONS 131.01, <br />137.01 AND 1301.01 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF <br />MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. There is hereby enacted new Section 137.01 of <br />the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, which shall read as <br />follows s <br />137.01 Building Commissioner/Service Director. <br />(a) There is hereby created the position of Building <br />Commissioner/Service Director. <br />(b) The Building Commissioner/Service Director shall have <br />the following duties and responsibilities in addition to <br />those prescribed for the Department of Public Service <br />and the Building Department under the Charter: (1) Supervise the collection of rubbish and garbage; <br />(2) Supervise all personnel in the Department of <br />Public Service; <br />(3) To prepare and issue all building permits, <br />occupancy permits and all other certificates <br />required by the ordinances of the municipality; <br />(4) Collect the permit fee provided by ordinance, <br />giving receipts therefor and paying the same <br />into the municipal treasury; make inspections <br />of buildings or alterations and improvements <br />thereto; report violations of the Building Code <br />and the Planning & Zoning Code to the Mayor; <br />assist in the enforcement of the Building Code <br />and the Planning & Zoning Code; to perform all <br />duties and acts required of the Commissioner under <br />the Building Code; <br />(5) To be responsible for the care, inspection and <br />maintenance of the structural integrity of the <br />Village Hall and other municipal buildings; <br />(6) To attend meetings of the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission, Board of Appeals, Architectural <br />Review Board and other committees upon request <br />by the respective chairman; and <br />(7) To perform other duties as may be necessary to <br />carry out the responsibilities of the position <br />as required by the ordinances of the municipality <br />or orders of the Mayor.
