ORDINANCE N0. 74-15 <br />Introduced by: MY'. BOZ'dOi1ar0 <br />AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PERMIT FEES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />ALTERATION, ADDITION T0, IMPROVEMENT, DEMOLITION AND <br />REMOVAL OF BUILDINGS AND PARTS THEREOF, PRESCRIBING A CASH <br />BOND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BUILDINGS, AND REQUIRING <br />APPLICANTS FOR BUILDING PERMITS TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL CASH <br />DEPOSIT TO PAY FOR ADDITIONAL PROEESSIONAL SERVICES INCURRED <br />BY THE VILLAGE IN ORDER TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING <br />PERMITS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 933. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the following <br />schedule of fees shall be in force and effect for the granting of permits for the <br />construction, alteration, addition to, improvement, demolition and removal of <br />buildings and parts thereof within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio; and the fees here- <br />inafter prescribed shall be additive and, unless otherwise specifically provided, <br />separate fees shall be paid for each of the items listed: <br />PERMIT FEES <br />Calculating Aggregate Floor Areas. The aggregate floor area shall be <br />the sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several floors, including <br />basements, cellars, and attics that are at least 50% habitable. All <br />horizontal dimensions shall be taken from the exterior faces of walls, <br />including enclosed porches. The floor space of a building or other structure <br />so used herein shall mean the floor space for each floor, including base- <br />ments where used for business or by the public or as living quarters, <br />attached garages, breezeways, and covered porches. <br />Establishing Cost. Where the permit requires the cost of the work done <br />under the permit, such costs shall be the actual cost as certified by <br />the owner or authorized representative of the owner, and as approved by <br />the Building Official. The Building Official may, at any time up to three <br />months after the completion of the building, require the submission of <br />authoritative estimates or actual cost data to substantiate the estimated <br />cost stated in the application for permit. <br />Refund of Pexmit Fees. Whenever the work, for which a pexmit has been <br />issued, has been abandoned and is not to be done, such permit may be <br />returned to the Building Official for cancellation andafter a deduction <br />of Five Dollars ($5.00) from the permit fee has been made, the balance <br />of the permit fee, if any, shall be refunded. <br />LUMP SUM TOTAL PERMIT FEE ON CONSTRUCTIOPI <br />OF NEW HOUSING UIVITS <br />(a) For construction of a new single family dwelling house, a total <br />lump sum permit fee of $200.00 shall be charged for a11 permits
