BOZ'dOi1ar0 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PERMIT FEES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION ALTERATION, ADDITION T0, IMPROVEMENT, DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL OF BUILDINGS AND PARTS THEREOF, PRESCRIBING A CASH BOND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW BUILDINGS, AND REQUIRING APPLICANTS FOR BUILDING PERMITS TO MAKE AN ADDITIONAL CASH DEPOSIT TO PAY FOR ADDITIONAL PROEESSIONAL SERVICES INCURRED BY THE VILLAGE IN ORDER TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FOR BUILDING PERMITS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 933. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the following schedule of fees shall be in force and effect for the granting of permits for the construction, alteration, addition to, improvement, demolition and removal of buildings and parts thereof within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio; and the fees here- inafter prescribed shall be additive and, unless otherwise specifically provided, separate fees shall be paid for each of the items listed: PERMIT FEES Calculating Aggregate Floor Areas. The aggregate floor area shall be the sum of the gross horizontal areas of the several floors, including basements, cellars, and attics that are at least 50% habitable. All horizontal dimensions shall be taken from the exterior faces of walls, including enclosed porches. The floor space of a building or other structure so used herein shall mean the floor space for each floor, including base- ments where used for business or by the public or as living quarters, attached garages, breezeways, and covered porches. Establishing Cost. Where the permit requires the cost of the work done under the permit, such costs shall be the actual cost as certified by the owner or authorized representative of the owner, and as approved by the Building Official. The Building Official may, at any time up to three months after the completion of the building, require the submission of authoritative estimates or actual cost data to substantiate the estimated cost stated in the application for permit. Refund of Pexmit Fees. Whenever the work, for which a pexmit has been issued, has been abandoned and is not to be done, such permit may be returned to the Building Official for cancellation andafter a deduction of Five Dollars ($5.00) from the permit fee has been made, the balance of the permit fee, if any, shall be refunded.
