.1 Ordinance No. 75-20 Introduced by: Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTEN9ION OF EMPLOYMENT OF LEGAL COUNSEL FOR MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Council deems it for the best interests of Mayfield Village to provide legal counsel for the same and for the officers thereof; and WHEREAS, Lawrence I. Byrnes has continued to serve as legal counsel for this municipality from January 1, 1975 to this date and this council desires to authorize and ratify payment for legal services rendered on behalf of this municipality from January 1, 1975 to the date of this ordinance; and , WHEREAS, this Council desires to provide for the legal services of a law director through December 31, 1975. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OE MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. Lawrence I. Byrnes, Attomey at Law, be and he hereby is, employed to act as legal counsel for said Village and the officers thereof in their official capacity, and as such to prosecute and defend all legal actions by or against said Village, or any department or officer thereof to which he may be assigned by Council or by the Mayor. Section 2. He shall prepare and submit to Council all Resolutions and Ordinances of whatsoever character or nature necessary for all public improve- ments and for the issuance of bonds and every purpose authorized by law, and he shall prepare all other Resolutions and Ordinances as are requested by this Council or any department of this Village. Section 3. His compensation from January 1, 1975 through May 31, 1975, being identical in all respects to that previously authorized by Ordinance No. 74-1, be, and the same is hereby authorized and approved. Section 4. He shall be appointed Law Director to serve until December 31, 1975, and shall receive as compensation the sum of $625.00 per month, payable in monthly installments, which compensation shall cover all general services rendered for the municipality as Law Director, with the exception of the following: (a) Such legal counsel shall be paid the additional sum at the rate of $200.00 per diem for time spent on behalf of said Village or any department or of£icer thereof in any trial or proceeding before any court or before any other public board or commission (other than a Board or Commission of this Village, and the Civil Service Coffiission) and at the rate of $35.00 per hour for time spent in preparation for any such trial or proceeding;
