By Mre Shaw <br />AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE REPAIR AND ?F.MOLITION <br />OF Dt1NGER0US BUII,DINGS. , __. . . ... <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THfi VILLAGE OF MAYFIII.D, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, TAAT: . .. . _ - - . . - . .. .. . ? . _, , - <br />Sec. 1. This Council finds that it is necessary to establish minimum <br />standards to make all dwellings and structures safe, sanitary, free from fire' <br />and health hazards, and satisfactory for human use and habitation and beneficial <br />to the public welfare, for the benefit of the inhabitants of those dwellings or <br />structures, if any, and for the benefit of the people of the Village of Mayfield. <br />Sec. 2. This Council further Einds that the provisions hereinafter set <br />forth are supplemehtal to Ordinance No. 788, as amended by Ordinance No. 893, <br />being the Fire Prerention Code, and of Ordinance No. 465, as amended, being <br />the Regional I»welling House Code, and Ordinance No. 726, as'amended, being <br />the Regional Building Code, except such provi.sions of such Codes which are <br />inconsistent therewith, which to that extent only, shall be and are hereby <br />repealed; otherwise, to remain in full force and effect. <br />Sec. 3. DEFINITIONS. The following definitions are applicable in this <br />Ordinance: <br />(a) Dwelling is a building used or designed, or intended to be <br />,. used, all or in part, for residential purposes. <br />(b) Structure is a building or device constructed or used for <br />, non-residential purposes. <br />(c) Exterior property areas are the yard areas conttected with, <br />by reason of ownership or right of control, or used together <br />with the dwelling or structure on the premises. <br />Sec. 4. UNSAFE DWELLINGS OR STRUCTURES. <br />(a) All dwellings or structures and all parts thereof, both exterior <br />and interior, shall be maintained in good repair and shall be <br />capable o£ performing the function for which such dwelling or <br />structure or part of any feature thereof was designed or intended <br />to be used. <br />(b) ,pll equipment and facilities appurtenant to a dwelling or structure <br />_ shall be maintained in good and safe working order. <br />r' <br />? <br />J
