I r \ <br />O <br />ORDINANCE No. 102 <br />b ' <br />LLI BY Mr• DAVTS <br />U) <br />Q AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PARADES AND PROCESSIONS <br />W <br />CL <br />a`CS 1 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF DfAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />? OHIO, THAT: <br />? <br />? Sec. 1. Unlawful'Parades attd Processions. It shall be unlawf ul for <br />o any person, persons, organization or group of persons to parade or hold a <br />m procession in or upon any of the dedicated or undedicated streets, highways, <br />parks, or public grounds, in the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, unless and <br />until such person, persons, organization or group of persons first obtains <br />a permit therefor from the Mayor. This ordinance shall not apply to funeral <br />processions. ' <br />Sec. 2. Permit Required. Any person, persons, group of persons or <br />organization desiring to parade or hold a procession in or upon any dedicated <br />or undedicated street, highway, parks or public grounds, before parading or <br />holding such procession, shall obtaitt from the Mayor a permit therefor, which <br />shall be issued only upon and with the written approval of the Chief of Police <br />or acting head of the Police Department. Each Application for a permit shall <br />? be made in duplicate in such foxm as may be prescribed by the Mayor, and each <br />copy shall be signed by the Applicant, describing the route over which the <br />parade or procession is to take place. Such application shall be filed at <br />least 5 days prior to the date of the proposed parade or procession, unless <br />the Mayor for good cause shown shortens the required time, and shall be <br />accompanied by a fee of $1.00. <br />Sec. 3. Refusal or Revocation(a)The Mayor may refuse to issue said <br />' permit if he determines that the Applicant or group or organization or persons <br />? represented by the Applicattt have previously violated the provisions oE a <br />? similar permit issued by the Village of Mayfield or any other governmental <br />body or has yiolated any o£ the ordinances of the Village of Mayfield or <br />laws of the State of Ohio or of the.United States in connection with a <br />r? previous parade or procession upott public streets or grounds; or, if by <br />reason of the nature of the proposed parade or procession or of the character <br />e and type of the objects to be promoted thereby or for any other reason the <br />u Mayor shall be of the opinion that the grantittg of such a permit f or the <br />V) proposed parade or procession will result in, provoke, or tend to provoke <br />< disorderly conduct or create a disturbance, or will result in the violation <br />I,rJ of the ordinances of the Village of Mayfield or laws of the State of Ohio or <br />? oE the United States. <br />cZ5 <br />(b) The permit herein provided for may be revoked at any time by <br />? the Mayor for any of the reasons herein set forth for the refusal of same, <br />? provided that notice of such revocation shall immediately be given to the <br />Q Applicant. <br />y^wC) <br />co <br />?
