ORDINANCE NO. 2005-59 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO THE RUMI FOUNDATION <br />FOR 750 BETA DRIVE, SUITE "F" <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended by unanimous <br />vote at its meeting of December 5, 2005 to grant a conditional use permit to the <br />RUMI Foundation, with the stipulations and conditions as hereinafter set forth; and <br />WHEREAS, the RUMI Foundation represents itself to be a local, cultural, <br />educational non-profit organization, founded and funded by members of the <br />Cleveland Turkish community to provide cultural and educational services to the <br />Greater Cleveland community; and <br />WHEREAS, the RUMI Foundation represents itself as having the goal to <br />create a common platform for people from all cultures and faiths by using the <br />medium of conferences, seminars, publications, and other activities, with the hope <br />of contributing to the ultimate aim of achieving world peace; <br />WHEREAS, the RUMI Foundation as an applicant for a conditional use <br />permit proposes to use the space at 750 Beta Drive, Suite F, for organizational <br />meetings, lectures, guest speakers, social gatherings, cultural gatherings and <br />potluck dinners, as well as children's programs on Saturdays and Sundays and <br />language classes for small groups; and <br />WHEREAS, the RUMI Foundation submits that the premises will not be <br />used for religious services and that all activities will be contained indoors. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO THAT:
