RESOLUTION N0. 90-16 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF RENEWING BY <br />LEVY A TAX IN EXCESS OF THE 10-MILL LIMITATION <br />AND SUBMITTING THE SAME TO THE ELECTORATE OF <br />HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, met in regular session on <br />the 19th day of February, 1990 in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall <br />with the following members present: Santo Basile, Wallace Ferrante, Lawrence <br />Flynn, Bruce Rinker, Joanne Cinco, Lillian Mills and Blase Pietrafese; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council did determine at the aforesaid meeting that the <br />amount of taxes which may be raised within the 10-mill limitation will be <br />insufficient to provide an adequate amount for the necessary requirements of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, that the Council deemed it to be in the best interests of the <br />municipality to renew the levy of a tax 2.3 mills for an additional period of <br />five (5) years, beginning with the 1990 tax list and duplicate and with the <br />first distribution of the proceeds of said levy to this Village in the <br />calendar year 1991 for the payment of current expenses; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL <br />MEMBERS ELECTED THERETO CONCURRING, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. It is necessary to levy a renewal of 2.3 mills in excess of <br />the 10-mill limitation for the benefit of Mayfield Village for the purpose of <br />paying current expenses at a rate not to exceed 2.3 mills for each $1.00 of <br />valuation, which amounts to Twenty-Three. Cents ($.23) for each One Hundred <br />Dollars ($100.00) of valuation for a period of five (5) years beginning with <br />the tax duplicate year 1990, with the first distribution of the proceeds in <br />the calendar year 1991. <br />SECTION 2. The question of renewing the existing tax levy shall be <br />submitted to the electors of Mayfield Village, Ohio at the special election to <br />be held at the usual voting places within said municipality on the 8th day of <br />May, 1990. <br />SECTION 3. The form of ballot to be cast at such election on the ques- <br />tion of such tax shall be as follows: <br />
