r~ ~g <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />Village of Mayfield Village <br />July 18, 1977 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session on <br />Monday, July 18, 1977 at 8:00 P.M. in the Village Hall. Council <br />President, Robert Grogan presided. <br />The PledgeQOf Allegiance to the Flay was. given. <br />Roll Call: Present: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan <br />and Schulte <br />Absent: Mr. Bordonaro <br />Also present were: Mayor Beebe, Messrs., Amendola, Byrnes,. Foltz, <br />Chief Hejcl, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Relic and Chief <br />Shortle <br />Mr. Grogan stated Mr. Bordonaro had previously given him notice he <br />would not be present and would like to say that there were enough <br />members present for a quorum. <br />OPEN PORTION• <br />Mr. Ronald Bear of 6819 Wilson Mills Rd. asked if anything can be <br />done to prevent his, and his neighbors, basement being flooded every- <br />time it rains. Not only are the drains backing up, but also the sewers <br />creating a messy and smelly situation. <br />Mr. Amendola said the County Engineer, Steve Varga, had been contacted <br />and he reported that all lines are open and suggested that the people <br />purchase (at minimum costs) back-pressure valves to prevent future <br />flooding. <br />Mrs. Ruth Krupp, 6799 Wilson Mills Rd. stated that she had talked with <br />Mr. Wierden at the Pumping Station and he told her the pipes leading <br />from the area of Front Row to the Station were too small to handle the <br />flooding waters. <br />Mr. Amendola said he would meet. with Mr. Varga to discuss the situation. <br />Mayor Beebe said he was aware of the situation and would follow through. <br />Ronald Sobel, of 837 Beech Hill Road, asked for an explanation of Res- <br />olution 989 that was on tonights Agenda? <br />Mr. Barclay said that Resolution 989 had a companion Ordinance 77-24 <br />and since it is evident the residents are satisfied with the paving, <br />is it necessary to continue to withhold the balance of the monies? He <br />requested the decision be made so the residents would be relieved of <br />the responsibility of maintenance of the road. <br />Mr. Bennett commented that in the past funds were withheld to assure <br />complete satisfaction of the work after its being subjected to the <br />temperature changes of a four season period. <br />
