MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />VILLAGE OF riAYFIELD <br />November l8, 1968 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session at the Village <br />Hall on rlonday, November 18, 1968, at 8:10 p.m., Mayor Busa presiding. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Roll Ca11: Present - Mayor Busa, r4essrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, <br />Schmidt and Davis. <br />Absent - None. <br />PIr. Schmidt, seconded by Mr. Comella, moved the acceptance of the October 21, 1968 <br />minutes after striking from the minutes the second sentence of the Police Department <br />report. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, Schmidt and <br />Davis. <br />Nays - None. <br />Minutes Approved. <br />dir. Schmidt read a letter from Mr. Aveni, owner of the ;layfield Village Shopping <br />riall, notifying the tenants that Jay Drug Store was assuming the responsibility <br />of cleaning 'the shopping center. Additional rubbish containers have been ordered. <br />The bulldozers are on the site at Hickory Hill Drive. The cul-de-sacs might be <br />paved this year. <br />The department heads are in the process of presenting their budgets to the Safety <br />and Service Committee. <br />The holes on SOM Center Road have been repaired and the needed areas widened. <br />Chief Shortle, Chief Hejcl, Mr. Davis and Mr. Schmidt visited the Superior Coach <br />Corporation in Lima, Ohio. They reported that it might be wise to purchase a 1968 <br />ambulance demonstrator with additional accessories and low mileage instead of a <br />1969 model. <br />NIr. Schmidt, seconded by Mr. Comella, made a motion that we advertise for bids for <br />a 1968 ambulance for police use. <br />P~o11 Call: Ayes - Messrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Donaldson, Schmidt and <br />Davis. <br />Nays -None. <br />T~totion Carried. <br />Mayor Busa read a letter from Chief :Shortle, advising that Patrolman Gould and <br />Patrolman Jay had served their probationary period, and recommended that they be <br />appointed as regular patrolmen, effective November 1, 1968. Mayor Busa appointed <br />Mr. Donald Gould and Mr. John S. Jay as regular patrolmen. <br />
