U , <br />117 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />August-l7, 1987 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, August <br />17, 19,87, at 8:10 p.m. in.the Council ChamUers at the Village Hall. Council <br />President Santo Basile.presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Roll Call: Present: Mrs.'Buzek,.Mr. Basile,.Mr. F1ynn, and Mr. Petschauer <br />Absent : None <br /> <br /> <br />Also Present Were . Mr. Amendola, Mr. Feneli, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick, <br />Chief Stevens, Chief Mohr, and Miss Heath. <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Mr. John,Nortori?;'1202'.'$dftd Coutt;'Clevelarid - said he was pr.esent on.behalf of <br />Anthony Musca.: He-said'the Musca.property is on the agenda for action tonight <br />and that he would like to ask Coun'cil to witlidraw it.from.tonight`s agenda. <br />He explained that regarding what had been subinitted earlier this month to Council <br />by another.architect should not have been subinitted. He said that the architect <br />submitted the.drawings witfiout'legal.advice, and without the proper understanding <br />of certain zon.ing and parking regulations. Mr. Norton said that he would like <br />to submit plans at a later date that would be in the.proper form, etc. <br />Mr. Basile asked when.Mr. Norton planned to submit the revised.drawings. <br />, <br />Mr. Norton..said he expected to be able to submit them in about 30 days, at <br />the next.CounciT".Caucus'-- (September 14.) <br />Gene March,. 545 Zorri Lane,- said he has a problem with a building contractor. <br />He'said that aliout three weeks ago he hired a contractor to put in a concrete <br />driveWay. The`contractor used materials that were not in accordance with the <br />Village code which was,:.confirmed by Mr. Amendola. The contractor made a number <br />of repairs and corrections to-his satisfaction, however, a number remain. He <br />said the contractor does not want to do additional repairs and has demanded <br />payment. Mr. March said that he told the:contractor that until it meets with his <br />satisfaction he will not pay for it. The contractor then issued threats on <br />his life and well being. He wants to know what the citq has done so far and <br />said that he wants to get the contractor off the job. 14r. March said that Mayor <br />Carmen suggested that Mr. Amendola might be able to recommend another contractor <br />that could complete the job. Then, Mr. March could deduct this bill from the <br />original contractor's bili. Mr. March asked whose job it is to enforce building <br />inspections. Mr.. March said that Mayor Carmen suggested that he might want to <br />contact the Police Department regarding the threat made to him. He had a patrol- <br />man come out who advised him that his options were to file an assault charge on <br />the man or let it go. Mr. March said he did not want to do that. He said that <br />Mayor Carmen said that the Police Chief might be able to talk to the gentleman <br />about what constituted a felony. Mr. March asked what could be done about the
