195 <br />MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />July 18,1994 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, July 18,1994, at <br />eight o'clock p.m. (8:00 p.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council <br />(D President Joanne Cinco presided. <br />M ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />? and Mr. Flynn <br />z Absent: None <br />c Also Present: Ma,yor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, <br />Mr. Diemert, Mr. Hovancsek (9:05 p.m.), Lt. Porter, Mr. Samac, <br />Sgt. Schutt (8:07 p.m.), Chief Stevens (8:33 p.m.) and Miss Heath <br />OMRM <br />give her any insight into the problem and some kind of solution. <br />Mayor Rinker said the Village had received a call from the Grahams a whilet ago <br />regarding a lot of unsightly things coming through an open di.tc?:;frbm`an outlet right at <br />Ridgebury which they suspected was coming largelyfrc?iri'lVIayfield Heights. Mr. <br />Samac, Mr. Amendola and 1VIr. Novickis fram-fhe Board of Health and the.County <br />Engineer responded: They discovered that some of this probYem was involving two <br />adjacent._properties that had their sanitary systems tied directly into:the storm system. <br />Tliose were addressed. There may have been one other property on the other side of <br />the street in Mayfield Heights that also was discovered by the County to have been tied <br />in. That was also rectified. The County believed that 90% of the°problem should have <br />been addressed; however, they were going to follo?r ?tp fo try to discover any other <br />potential sources,for what was causing this? Mayor Rinker said the Grahams have <br />ynaintained contact with the Village. He has spoken with representati"ves from EPA. As <br />far as we are aware, they are still looking at this problem to see if there are other sources <br />that can be taken care of. Mayor Rinker said it is his understanding that the Village has <br />a limited easement to maintain the enclosed culvert portion of this sewer. He had <br />requested that the Service Department clean this up to try to keep it from being <br />-- unsightly. He is not certain whether or not there was a clean up. We are looking to <br />keeping the lines of communication open with the County, with EPA and with Mayfield <br />Heights to make sure that every effort is made for them to identify and then to rectify <br />the source points for this.
