MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL Mayfield Village February 19, 1990 The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, February 19, 1990, at 8:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council President Patsy Mills presided. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Pietrafese (8:06 p.m.); Mr. Rinker Absent: None Also Present Were: Mayor Carmen, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick, Mr. Ramos, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, and Miss Heath OPEN PORTION Shirley Flu,an. 6800 Hickorv Hill Drive, read a letter regarding the proposal that is being. .. considered by Village officials to convert the street lights from mercury vapor to high pressure sodium. Mr. Pietrafese arrived at this time (8:06 p.m.) Mrs. Flugan asked that Village officials explore ways to improve the shielding on the existing lighting and consider installing low sodium lights instead of the high sodium lights being proposed. She said the low sodium lights are even more energy efficient than the high sodium lights. She explained her awareness to light pollurion which comes from her activities as an amateur astronomer. (A copy of her letter is attached to the minutes.) Mayor Carmen thanked Mrs. Flugan for her suggestion. He asked Chief Mohr to obtain information about the items she proposed and to present a report at the next Council Caucus. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES Reizular Council Meeting - Januarv 22. 1990 - Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to approve the minutes.
