Uoer Forties Drive, said she hopes the Village does not forget about them. They
have more water coming down, are not happy, and would appreciate action.
W. Pietrafese arrived at this time.
Sandv Bordonaro. Metro Park Drive, said he is here to talk about the north end of town. He
recommends that the Village maintain that green azea and control the zoning. Most Villagers want
this to be a bedroom community, a community of homes. He hopes if the Administration and
Council are going to take on a major expense that they do not cut the Village short and let the north
end go.
Judge Robert Grogan. 480 Oakton Circle, said he is a long-rime resident of the Village and
formerly sat on Council. He feels many communities (such as Solon, Westlake and Parma) have
set precedents in acquiring golf courses. He sees no reason why the Village should not keep that
green belt; it would be an ideal buffer. He thinks Council should be acting on it this yeaz. Judge
Grogan said he thinks the golf course will pay for itself. It could be used for recreational programs
for the city. He hopes Council will look at this situarion closely this year since the golf course is
for sale. He said there are no oprions on it, no pending lawsuit; nothing to stop us from acquiring
the land.
Mr. Basile asked if they could tell us what it is on the tax duplicate for.
Mr. Bordonaro said fair market value, approximately under one million dollars. He said that he
gave the informarion to Mayor Cannen. If they have a bonafide offer of 4 million dollars, he
suggested that the Village might want to file a complaint with the Board of Revision and ask for an
increase of taxes.
Mayor Cannen arrived at this time.
Mr. Bordonaro said he would rather see the Village negoriate than to take the property by eminent
domain.
