MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL
Mayfield Village
November 20, 1989
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday,
November 20, 1989, at 8:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Village
Hall. Council President Santo Basile presided.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Roll Call: Present: Mr. Basile, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Mills,
Mr. Rinker, and Mr. Santoro
Absent : Mr. Petschauer
Also Present Were . Mayor Carmen, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Patrick,
Mr. Ramos, Chief Mohr, Chief Stevens, and
Miss Heath.
OPEN PORTION
Florian Rickey - 6128 Wilson Mills Road - said that regarding the
hectic snow, he was wondering if Wilson Mills was going to be last on
the run again. Their snow was removed somewhere around 9'9:30 p.m. He
heard a comment that they could not be done earlier because there was
too mucn traffic on Wilson Mills. He said if this is the way it' is
going to be removed it is a rip-off to the Village as well as to the
residents. He read a section from Crain's Cleveland Business regarding
income tax receipts (comparing communities.) He said that most of our
income tax comes from btisinesses located on Wilson Mills Road. If the
Village has to spend more dollars (he is talking about picking up
leaves as well) for Wilson Mills, they should have the monies to do so.
We are not poor and if it means buying equipment he thinks they should
be treated like everyone else.
Martin Comella, 673 Robley Lane, said he would like to congratulate
the people that won the election; he did not. Mr. Comella said that he
found a letter from Mayor Carmen on election eve that stated he had not
attended a Council Meeting in o months. He said that he attended
meetings of July, August, and September; he was interviewed on t.v. at
one of them. He said in the letter he was referred to as a front for
the Coalition; that is not true. He is far anything that benefits
Mayfield Village in general. As far as attending Council meetings, he
said that minutes are available, we can buy them so we can keep up
with anything that goes on in Mayfield Village, we do not have to
attend a meeting. As far as malcontents go we are probably all
malcontents. Mr. Comella said he wants to make Mayfield Village a
better place to live; it is a good place now, he wants to make it
better. He hopes that they Wiii realize that there has been a mistake
made regarding his name and will clear it in the next Voice of the
Village; he would very much appreciate it.
