MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL Monday, August 18, 2008 Mayfield Village Civic Hall The Council of Mayfield Village met in regular session on Monday, August 18, 2008 at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Civic Hall. Council President Pro Tem Tom Marrie called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL: Present: Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mrs. Mills, Mr. Marrie, Dr. Parker and Mr. Saponaro Absent: Mr. Buckholtz Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Miller, Ms. Calta, Mr. Cappello, Chief Dearden, Mr. Marrelli, Chief Mohr, Mr. Dinardo, Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Kalina and Mrs. Betsa The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. Mr. Marrie asked everyone to continue standing to observe a moment of silence in Memory of the mother of Council President Bill Buckholtz who passed away on Saturday. OPEN PORTION 5-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their name and address. Rich Prosen 6776 Glenview Mr. Prosen wished Council good luck in their decision. It affects us all. Albert Hehr 6708 Glenview Mr. Hehr represents 899 SOM Center Road, 891 SOM Center Road and 903 SOM Center Road. Each of the people involved in this are extremely concerned that we as a unit of central government are being sort of held hostage at this point by being picked off by a company that is coming in and pitting one resident against another. Mr. Hehr has spent a lot of time talking to different members of the Glenview, Bonnieview and Beech Hill communities. He has lived in the Village for 40 years. They are concerned that anyone would be able to come in and talk to an individual member of the community and pit each of them against each other, saying, if you don't sign, we are going to go the next door neighbor and the next door neighbor is going to sign and you are just going to lose out. Their impression of the use of the Village was that they were going to be able to negotiate as a group
