Regular Council Minutes
5-17-04
Page 1
MINUTES OF A REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
Mayfield Village
May 17, 2004
The Council of Mayfield Village met in Regular Session on Monday, May 17, 2004,
at 8:00 p.m. in the Mayfield Village Senior Center/Community Room. Council President Bill
Buckholtz presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie,
Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker and Mr. Saponaro
Absent: None
Also Present: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Gappello, Mr. Chapman,
Chief Dearden, Mr. Diemert, Mr. Hovancsek, Mr. Marrelli,
Mr. Metzung, Chief Mohr (until the recess), Mr. Thomas
and Mrs. Roman
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION - 5-minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state their
name and address.
There were no comments.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES:
Special Meeting of Council - March 22, 2004
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to approve the minutes.
Mr. Marquardt said I would say those minutes are totally inadequate. There were some very
pertinent, important discussions about the budget and the financial help of the Village that should
be part of the public record. I, for one, would be happy to write my recollection of the meeting
in light of the fact that we didn't have a reporter at the meeting. Those meeting minutes should
be more complete; I would not recommend approving them as they stand.
Council President Buckholtz said we could either bring back all the discussion of that night
regarding the budget or (Council President Buckholtz addressed NIr. Brett and asked)-do you
have comments?
Mr. Brett said again that night was an evening where circumstances beyond the control of
anyone there was no one available to take minutes. There was really-I volunteered to take
minutes-there is really no way that I can present, defend, discuss the budget and take detailed
notes. I will be happy if Mr. Marquardt wants to submit what he thinks should be the minutes
and I will be more than happy to put what I think my reactions to those comments are.
Council President Buckholtz asked, does anyone else have coinments?
