MINUTES OF THE SAFETY & SERVICE COMMITTEE <br />Monday, March 6, 2006 <br />Mayfield Village Loft Conference Room <br />The Safety and Service Committee met on Monday, March 6, 2006 in the Loft Conference <br />Room. Mrs. Cinco called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present: Mrs. Cinco, Mrs. Mills, Dr. Parker <br />Also Present: Chief Mohr, Chief Deaxden, Mr. Metzung, Mr. Thomas, and Mrs. Betsa <br /> <br />Solicitation Ordinance <br />This item will be forwarded to Caucus for discussion. <br />. Medtronic Renewal contract for monitor/defibrillators used by MFD <br />Chief Mohr reported that this is split 50-50 with Gates Mills. This is to mainta.in the <br />monitors and defibrillators. A new one this yeax that is not on - there are new standards for the <br />American Heart Association so our AED's at the Community Room, Civic Center, one or two of <br />the police cars and fire equipment, there is an augurhythym that needs to be uploaded into these <br />units. We do not know what the price of that is yet. They are changing the standards for CPR. <br />Anyone with an AED has to change. <br />Mr. Marrie asked how much it will be. Chief Mohr indicated it would cost $3,800.00. <br />This will be passed on to Finance. Our share of Hillcrest Fire Chief Technical Rescue Team bill for 2006 ($5,000.00). <br /> <br />Mrs. Cinco indicated this item will go to Finance. <br />Possible failure of the fire station generator due to rodents <br />Chief Mohr reported that the radio system went down last Saturday. The generator runs <br />once a week, shuts down, cools off and then we go back on CEI power. It went through its cycle <br />a week ago Saturday, shut down and surged the station and the UPS system. The UPS system <br />saw a power spike and shut itself down to protect itself. When it did that, it turned off 911, <br />turned off the phones, the computer, the radios. We have a procedure to get it back up. We were
