1
MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL
September 11, 2006
Mayfield Village Civic Hall
The Council of Mayfield Village met in special session on Monday, September 11, 2006, in the
Mayfield Village Civic Hall. Council President Buckholtz called the meeting to order at
8:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present:
Absent:
Also Present:
Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Marrie,
Mrs. Mills and Dr. Parker
Mr. Saponaro
Mayor Rinker, Mr. Brett, Mr. Cappello, Chief Mohr,
Chief Dearden, Mrs. Kalina, Mr. Diemert and Mrs. Betsa
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
The meeting began with a moment of silence to commemorate the tragedy of September 11,
2001.
• A motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $24,321.00
for the.painting of Parkview Pool.
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to suspend.
Mr. Marrie, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an
amount not to exceed $24,321.00 for the painting of Parkview Pool.
Mr. Buckholtz asked if there was any discussion.
Mr. Brett reported in Mr. Thomas' absence. The one section of the pool was
deteriorating as far as the paint was concerned. Rather than do it piecemeal from year to year,
Mr. Thomas felt it would be a good idea to do the entire pool at once. It breaks out that normally
the 0-42" would be about $19,876.00. The competitive area was painted in 2001. That would be
about $5,678.00. The cost to repaint the diving well would be $987.00. If the work were
performed in sections, the total would come to $26,541.00, but Plastall Service Company who
did the painting last time is willing to do the entire thing for $24,321.00, with athree-year
warranty. Mr. Thomas is recommending an expenditure of $24,321.00.
Mrs. Mills reported that this was approved in Finance.
