Council President Pro-Tem Williams called the meeting to order
at 8:00 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Marquardt, Mr. Meyers, Mrs. Mills,
Dr. Parker, Mr. Schutt and Mr. Williams
Also Present: Mayor Bodnar, Mr. Wynne, Mr. Coyne,
Sergeant Miller, Mr. Metzung, Mr. Marrelli,
Chief Carcioppolo, Mr. McAvinew,
Mr. Cappello, Ms. Wolgamuth and Mrs. Betsa
Absent: Mr. Saponaro
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
Presentation by?Representatives of the Willoughby-Cleveland Elks Lodge #18
Mr. Jon Felice stated, before I begin tonight I would like to thank the Mayor, members of
Council, the citizens and the Chief for allowing us to be here tonight. I would like to introduce
some people who are with me tonight. This is Brian Cook. He is referred to as the Esteemed
Lecturing Knight of our Lodge. This is Lindsey Stark, the Inner Guard of our Lodge and this is
Kirk Kokal who is the Past Exalted Ruler of our Lodge. I am just the Treasurer. And I'm fine
with that.
We are here tonight to make a presentation on behalf of our Lodge which was funded through
the Elks National Foundation. We apply for grants every year to give to our local communities.
We have one grant. It's called the Gratitude Grant and we have divided it up four ways for the
last 10 or 15 years. We try to reach out to two different fire departments and two different police
departments in our jurisdiction. We are starting to travel farther away from the Willoughby
Lodge because we have reached all of the departments.
I had the opportunity of calling Chief Carcioppolo. We talked to the Chief and he said that there
was some things needed. We are here to present $500 to the Mayfield Village Fire Department to
use for exercise equipment because the Elks are committed to making sure that our First
Responders' health and welfare is taken into consideration as they perform their jobs within our
communities.
I would encourage everyone to check out our website which is the Willoughby-Cleveland Elks
Lodge and see what we do within our local communities with these different grants for the local
Fire and Police Departments. But even more so, consider going on to elks.org and see what over
