RESOLUTION NO. 2022-47 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 2022-10 AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH GREVE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) 2022 POLICE VEHICLE AND THREE (3) 2023 POLICE VEHICLES IN THE AMOUNT OF $225,413.00 THROUGH THE STATE OF OHIO'S DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (DAS) COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM WHEREAS, Mayfield Village Council passed Resolution 2022-10 authorizing the purchase of four (4) 2022 Police Vehicles from Greve Chrysler Dodge of Van Wert in the amount of $211,128.00 under the State of Ohio's Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Cooperative Purchasing Program; and WHEREAS, due to production issues and vehicle availability, the manufacturer canceled the order for three (3) of the 2022 vehicles which will be replaced with 2023 police vehicles; and WHEREAS, due to the new pricing for 2023 police vehicles, the cost of the purchase for CW the four (4) new police vehicles has increased from $211,128.00 to $225,413.00; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has advised that the department is in need of replacing patrol units which are approaching the end of their usable life and are ready to be cycled out of service; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police wishes to utilize the State of Ohio's Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Cooperative Purchasing Program, which does not require competitive bidding pursuant to State law to purchase the four (4) vehicles to replace the old vehicles which will be sold once the transfer is complete; and WHEREAS, upon receipt of the updated quote from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Wert, the Chief of Police has recommended the purchase of one (1) 2022 Dodge Charger and three (3) 2023 Dodge Chargers from Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Wert in the amount of $225,413.00 which includes additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the changeover. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village hereby approves and authorizes an expenditure in the amount of $225,413.00 to Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Wert for the purchase of four (4) police vehicles, including additional equipment upgrades and the cost of the changeover. This expenditure shall be in the place of that expenditure previously authorized by Resolution 2022-10.
