ROLL CALL: <br />MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 8, 1987 <br />Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:10 n.m. <br />Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, T. Morgan, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, and J. Burns. <br />Absent: B. Gorris <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Consulting City Engineer <br />T. Boyer, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, and Clerk of <br />Commissions B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />T. Morgan moved to approve the minutes of June 23 and 24,.1987 as vresented, <br />seconded by M. Betts, and unanimously approved. <br />T. Morgan moved.to approve the minutes of July 28, 1987 as presen.ted, <br />seconded by M. Betts, and unanimously approved. <br />III. .BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />Chairman Burns announced was being amended to hear item number 1 after item <br />number 5 as requested by the develoner. <br />1) Store it Here, (Heard after item 5). <br />2) Space Age Industrial Design, Bradley Road (southwest of 31157). <br />.Proposal to change exterior material as previously approved by <br />Planning Commission February 24, 1987. (Heard by Board of Building <br />Code Appeals August 27, 1987). <br />Mr. Hardy, owner, explained that he is requesting_'to change the exterior <br />material on the rear building to a scoredblock in.place of the split <br />face block that was approved, the eolor will be basically the same. <br />Mr. Bain, the builder, presented samples of both.ma.terials and explained <br />that since the snlit face block is an imitation brick, it would neither <br />match nor be a contrast to the new "old" brick that was planned for the <br />of£ice portion of the building in the front. He explained that the <br />bTock is scored to give the appearance of 8 inch tiles, and will be <br />painted and sealed in a two coat system. -r?r. Hardy advised that the <br />front of the building is 135 feet from Bradley Road and 600 feet from <br />the rear adjacent residential property, and even though he plans to <br />expand the building., he will not expand past the creek on the rear of <br />the nroperty and there would be a natural buffer between his building , <br />and the homes to the rear. Approval to use.this material was given <br />by the Board of Building Code Appeals.with the eondition that they use <br />.the two coat system. The Building Commissioner's report advised that <br />there were no objections?to .this request. The next-door neighbor, <br />Mr. Kline, has no.objection. 1. Thomas moved to approve the proposal to <br />ctiange the exterior mate.rial from split face?block to a'scored block <br />on Space Age Industrial Design's new building on Bradley with specifi- : <br />cations as Mr. Hardy mentioned `about the sealing of:the block, secondedby T. Morgan, and vnanimously approved.. . . . "
