. ' ' •? ?. '? ?. , i CIT"OF NORTH OLMSTED PLANNING COMMISSION I. ROLL CALL: MINUTES - SEPTEMBER 8, 1987 Chairman Burns called the meeting to order at 8:10 n.m. Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, T. Morgan, J. Thomas, E. Traczyk, and J. Burns. Absent: B. Gorris Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Consulting City Engineer T. Boyer, Assistant City Engineer D. McDermott, and Clerk of Commissions B. Oring. II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: T. Morgan moved to approve the minutes of June 23 and 24,.1987 as vresented, seconded by M. Betts, and unanimously approved. T. Morgan moved.to approve the minutes of July 28, 1987 as presen.ted, seconded by M. Betts, and unanimously approved. III. .BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: Chairman Burns announced was being amended to hear item number 1 after item number 5 as requested by the develoner. 1) Store it Here, (Heard after item 5). 2) Space Age Industrial Design, Bradley Road (southwest of 31157). .Proposal to change exterior material as previously approved by Planning Commission February 24, 1987. (Heard by Board of Building Code Appeals August 27, 1987). Mr. Hardy, owner, explained that he is requesting_'to change the exterior material on the rear building to a scoredblock in.place of the split face block that was approved, the eolor will be basically the same. Mr. Bain, the builder, presented samples of both.ma.terials and explained that since the snlit face block is an imitation brick, it would neither match nor be a contrast to the new "old" brick that was planned for the of£ice portion of the building in the front. He explained that the bTock is scored to give the appearance of 8 inch tiles, and will be painted and sealed in a two coat system. -r?r. Hardy advised that the front of the building is 135 feet from Bradley Road and 600 feet from the rear adjacent residential property, and even though he plans to expand the building., he will not expand past the creek on the rear of the nroperty and there would be a natural buffer between his building , and the homes to the rear. Approval to use.this material was given by the Board of Building Code Appeals.with the eondition that they use .the two coat system. The Building Commissioner's report advised that there were no objections?to .this request. The next-door neighbor, Mr. Kline, has no.objection. 1. Thomas moved to approve the proposal to ctiange the exterior mate.rial from split face?block to a'scored block on Space Age Industrial Design's new building on Bradley with specifi- : cations as Mr. Hardy mentioned `about the sealing of:the block, secondedby T. Morgan, and vnanimously approved.. . . . "
