<br />NORTH OLMSTED LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />September 10, 1987 Meeting <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: " <br />Chairman MICHAEL PATTON, City Council Representative BILL <br />LACKEY, LOIS VAN AUKEN, SHARON FLEMING, ROBERT PARRY, GLORIA <br />SELL <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm by the Chairman. <br />The minutes of the July meeting were read and Lois Van <br />Auken Moved that the minutes ( subject to typographic corrections) <br />be approved, the motion was seconded by Sharon Flemming and <br />the membership approved them unanimously. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />Lois Van Auken moved that the Commission thank Sharon <br />Fleming for the hard work and dedicated service she displayed <br />as the Chairperson of the Landmarks Commission for the past <br />two years. Bob Perry seconded the motion and the membership <br />unanimously thanked Sharon Flemming for all of her hard work <br />and dedication. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />1) BUTTERNUT HISTORIC DISTRICTa <br />Lois Van Auken reported to the Commission about the <br />dedication ceremony for the Butternut Road Historic District <br />sign installation. Three members of the Commission were present <br />at the ceremony. The Mayor cut a crepe paper ribbon that was <br />draped accross the sign located at the corner of Porter Road <br />and Butternut Ridge. Photographs were taken by Bob Parry for <br />the Commission's archives. The Elyria Chronical sent a reporter <br />and a copy of the article is attached. <br />2) HOMECOMING: <br />Lois Van Auken reported to the Commission about the <br />1987 North Olmsted Homecoming. Lois and Bob Parry designed <br />and created a Flyer to be handed out at the Homecoming, a <br />copy is attached to the minutes. <br />3) CARPENTER HOUSE: <br />The CARPENTER house was moved from its location on <br />Lorain Road, to the Frostville area in the Metroparks. <br />Photgraphs were taken by the commission and are to be added <br />to the Commission's Archives. <br />4) CITY HALL: <br />The Mayor has requested that certain C.D.B.G. funds <br />from the Fiscal Year of 1985 be used for renovation of the <br />Old Town Hall building. The Nayor's request would provide <br />funds in the amount of approximately $47,000.00, for the renova- <br />tion of Old Town Hall. A copy of the letter is attached hereto. <br />-1-
