CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHTTECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - MAY 20, 1987 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Britton called the meeting to order at 5:10 p.m. <br />Present: J. Britton and B. Zergott <br />Absent: M. Case and D. Pattison <br />Also Present: B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Britton moved to approve the minutes of April 22, 1987 as written, <br />seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />1) Kids "R" Us, 25877 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />Wall Sign (to be heard with building plans) <br />J. Britton moved to approve tlie sign on the upper level of the mansard <br />as is present on other large stores within the shopping center, seconded <br />by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1) Nightfall Night C1ub, 30850 Lorain Road <br />Landscape plan (Heard by Planning Commission January 27, 1987). <br />Mr.Ho.rvath;:...tlie owner, requested that this item be deferred until .his <br />attorney was present. (Heard at end of ineeting) <br />V. NEW BUSTNESS: <br />1) Kids "R" Us, 25877 Great Northern Shopping Center <br />Proposal to renovate front elevation of retail unit (formerly Designer Depot). <br />(Heard by Planning Commission May 12, 1987). <br />Mr. Ricci, architect, presented color rendering explaining that brick <br />(to match the existing brick) will be added to reduce the height of the <br />windows; transparent tinted glass will be installed on the sales area <br />of the unit, and a t.inted,glass with a mirrored back (Solarcole graylite) <br />will be used on the office portion, and frames for windows and doors will <br />be bronze anodized aluminium. Sign is to be installed on the higher <br />leveZ of the mansard and will be no larger than other signs on this <br />area. He explained that the actual sliade of the brick will be decided <br />at the site in order to get an exact match. Roof top equipment will <br />be changed, but will be installed behind the mansard and will not be <br />visible. J. Britton moved to approve the plans as submitted, seconded <br />by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved. J. Britton moved to approve <br />the sign on the upper level of the mansard as is present on other large <br />stores within the shopping center, seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously <br />approved.
