ARCHITECTURAL BOA.RD OF REVIEW OCTOBER 21, 1987 PAGE 2 <br />Mr. Serne, architect, and Mr. Nagys representing the ctiurch, explained <br />they.will be adding a classroom wing and a gallery. All materials will <br />match the existing as closely as possible in a brown bricko A new ground <br />sign will be installed with landscaping around the base and will be illu- <br />minated by flood lights, The final landscaping plan is being done by. <br />another committee of the church, but will be similar to what is shown. <br />Three trees must be removed and they were advised to contact the forester. <br />There is a free standing wood cross on the property.now which will be <br />relocated to the front of the classroom building (this is not shown on <br />the plans). Parking plan was presented as required: 179 total parking <br />spaces would be required for the total comple.x and they now have 134 <br />spaces. They explained that since the social hall and the sanctuary <br />are never used at the same tine, they do not believe that the additional <br />parking is needed. Mr, Conwa_y 'advised that:, __according to -the code; <br />this could be considered a shared.use and the parking would be satis- <br />factory. Mr. Nag,y stated that if the parking were to become a problem <br />they will increase it. J. Britton moved to approve the design as sub- <br />mitted with the notation that the trees that are to be removed for the <br />gallery be checked out by the forester, and to approve the exterior <br />materials to match the existing, seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously <br />approved. <br />3) Electric Cordsets, Inc., 31400 Bradley Road <br />Proposal to construct office building in Limited Industrial District <br />(variance granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals October 7, 1987) <br />Heard b_y Planning Commission October 13,.1987. <br />Mr. Davidson, architect, Mr. Benbow and Mr. Davis, representing Electric <br />Cordsets,presented plans for the 3,500 square foot office building. Trees <br />in front and on the side will remain, rear property w.ill be maintained as <br />a natural area. Building will be low and residential in character in a <br />Glen Gery brick, the color will be Rustic Myrrh (brown); windows will be <br />Pella thermopanes with anodized frames; and shingles will be Certainteed <br />in a black with copper flecks. A 32 square foot, one sided ground sign <br />on a brick base will be installed in front and lighted with flood lights; <br />all wiring will be underground. No dumuster is planned and mechanical <br />units will be ground mounted and screened with landscaping. Lights wi,ll- <br />be placed under the soffit of the building with a pole light in the parking <br />area. J. Britton moved to accept the plans arid iiiaterials as submitted, <br />seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved. <br />Regarding the dryvit screen for the mechanical units on the United Dairy <br />Farmers' Building that the Board had required, Mr. Conway stated that the <br />developer has informed him that it is not practical since it does not allow <br />sufficient air flow. They are requesting to use a perforated sheet metal <br />screening painted to match the building. The Board agreed that Mr. Conway <br />could allow them to install it, and if it is not satisfactory, he will bring <br />it back to the Board. <br />VI.
