BOARD OF BUILDTNG CODE APPEALS NOVEMBER 19, 1987
Review of the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance:
PAGE 4
Building Commissioner Conway advised that the Ohio Department of Natural
Resourses believes that there have been enough': changes in the last four
or five years to warrant updating the existing ordinance to insure that
all definitions that have been changed or adopted are incorporated.
They have sent all cities a model ordinance which should have been adopted
last year. Failure to enact the legislation could possibly nullify the
insurance of a homeowner who carries the insurance. If the Board accepts
the ordinance, it will be turned over to the Law Department for their
review. In the past there have been.claims on this insurance, especially
by those homeowners who live close to the river. There will be another
survey in 1988 to review the areas which are now included in the flood
plane. J. Kazak moved to accept the Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance,
seconded by R. Burk, and unanimously approved.
VII. ADJOUR.MENTS:
The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 p.m.
. Kazak, Chairman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
