Special permission required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02, Also request <br />9 foot front set back variance (6foot existing encroachment and 2 foot <br />variance for overhang on new facade). Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1174.02.. <br />_Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to M. Cook, owner, and M. Gates, contractor. Chairman Remmel <br />stated that this alteration would be an improvement. B. Grace moved to <br />approve the special permit to alter a non-conforming building (both front and <br />rear set backs) and also an 8 foot front set back variance for the Lorain <br />American station, 27830 Lorain Road, seconded by R. Gomersall and unanimously <br />approved. Special permit and variance granted. <br />4. Joseph Stralka, 25904 Byron Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 7 foot 7 inch rear yeard variance <br />for patio enclosure. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1163.01. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to T. Amoto, contractor, and neighbors, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Sheridan <br />who explained that this house is on a corner lot and the enclosure would be <br />visible from their property. Request was explained to neighbors and they <br />were shown an elevation. Board has no problem with the request. Mrs. Sheridan <br />has no objection. C. Remmel moved to grant the 7 foot 7 inch rear yard vari- <br />ance for a patio enclosure requested by Mr. Stralka, seconded by B. Grace, and <br />unanimously approved. Variance granted. <br />5. Ohio Savings, 4570 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 27.2 square foot variance to add to <br />pole sign (22 square foot over allowed sign area at present and 5.2 square <br />foot for sign to be added). Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1221.06. Also <br />request special permit to add to non-conforming pole sign. Special permission <br />required Ord. 62-33, Section 1231.02. <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Kirkell, sign contractor, who explained that the bank <br />has been there for about twenty years and the addition to the sign will be <br />centered on the pole and will be over private property.. Chairman Remmel <br />stated that the board would like a representative from Ohio Savings present. <br />Mr. Gomersall and Mr. Grace stated that they would just as soon vote on it now. <br />B. Grace moved to grant the request for Ohio Savings, 4570 Great Northern <br />Blvd. for 27:2 square foot variance for addition sign space, seconded by R. <br />Bugala. Roll call on motion: Grace, Bugala, Gomersall, Helon, and Remmel, <br />no. Motion failed to pass. Variance denied. <br />6. Richard and Pauline Wells, 5955 Burns Rd. <br />Request for variance (1133.13). Request 96 square foot vari:ance and 1 foot <br />height variance for tool shed. Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-D. <br />(Variance reduced by at least 25 percent from variance request which was <br />denied on July 1, 1987). Please Note: existing sheds to be removed). <br />Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Wells and neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Early who are in favor <br />of the variance. This proposal has been reduced and they are now requesting <br />a variance for a 14 by 14 foot shed, 9 feet high. Neighbors across the street
