.
?
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS SEPTEMBER 2, 1987 PAGE 5
11. Shirley Gluyas, 24102 Beech Lane.
Request for variance (I133.13). Req.uest 51 foot variance for privacy screen
and location of.nrivacv screen on two points only on property lines.
Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-G.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Gluyas and her son, J. Gluyas, who explained she needed
a 6 foot privacy screen across the front of her property in order to screen
car lights from the front of her house (house is located on a cul-de-sac
and faces the street) and for security reasons. They do not believe that a
five foot fence would be architecturally attractive and it would not obscure
the service entrance. They are willing to use a five foot fence on the
south side of the property and on the section across the driveway (this would
eliminate the location variance for a privacy screen), thus the request be
for 39 feet of 6 foot privacy screen. Considering that reduction, Mr. Grace
does not believe that they are asking too much. Mr. Remmel stated that even
though much of the proposed screening is obscur,ed by trees, another owner
could take the trees out and the screen would be visible. Mr. Bugala believes
that the five foot high fence would be adequate. B. Grace moved to approve
the request for a 39 foot variance for a privacy screen for Shirley Gluyas,
24102 Beech Lane, seconded by R. Gomersall. Roll call on motion: Grace
and Remmel, yes. Bugala, Gomersall, and Helon, no. Motion failed to nass.
Variance denied.
17. Kenneth Schroder, 23514 Stoneybrook Dr. (Heard at this point)
Request for variance (1133.13). Request 7 foot rear yard variance for deck
with roof.. Violati,on of Oxd, 62-.33, Sectzon 1163,01,
Chairman Remmel called all interested pax'ties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Schroder, Members had no objection to the request.
C. Remmel moved to grant the variance, seconded by B. Grace, and unanimously
approved. Variance granted.
12. Mr, and Mrs. Alan Srp, 23582 Cedarwood Lane
Req_uest for variance (.1133.13). Request 8 foot 6 inch rear yard variance for
patio enclosure. Violation of Ord. 62- 33, Section 1163.01.
Chairman Remmel called all interested parties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Srp and a representative of Patio Enclosures. Board has
viewed the premises and has no objection to the request. R. Bugala moved to
grant the variance, seconded by J. Helon, and unanimously approved.
13. RoseMarie and Edward Doehring, 27880 North Park Dr.
Request for variance (1133.13). Req_uest 1 foot height variance for fence
(dog run), Violation of Ord. 62-33, Section 1151.04-H,
Chairman Remmel called all interested narties before the Board. The oath was
administered to Mr. Rychlik, a neighbor, Mr, Doehring, and Mr. Damm, who resides
in the.house. r1r. Damm exolained that the dog run would be nlaced directly
behind the garage. Mr. Rych lik has no objection.but would like the fence
screened on his side so the dogs do not bark at his family. Mr. Damm and
Mro Doehring claim that th.eir trees and Mr. Rychlik's trees will screen the
