CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES - JUNE 283- 1988 I. ROLL CALL: Chairman Morgan called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. Present: M. Betts, R. Bierman, B. Gorris, T. Morgan, J. Thomas, and E. Traczyk. Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dubelko, Building Commissioner Conway, Consulting City Engineer Boyer, and Clerk of Commissions Oring. IT. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: J. Thomas moved to approve the minutes of the June 14, 1988 Planriing Commission meeting, seconded by E. Traczyk, and unanimously,approved.. . III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: 1) Brendan Place, Lorain Road and David Drive Revised landscape .plan. Heard by the Architectural Board of Review June 22, 1988. No representative present. Continued later in-.meeting. 2) Honors Hotel, Great Northern Corporate Center Proposal to construct hotel in Mixed Use District. . Heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals June 8, 1988 Heard by the Architectural Board of Review June 22, 1988. City Engineer Boyer advised that the Traff-Pro study is not yet available, and also ttiat Captain Krynak had been unable to comment futher on his pre- vious report'since he was.on,vacation. Mr. Boyer explained that Captain Krynac's basic.contentions are that this-is a highly traveled inter.section, that the hotel would have an impact on the traffic movement, and that a re-alignment of the intersection is necessary. Mr. Boyer's contention is that if the traffic signalization is modified as.o.utl.ined in his report . dated June.14, 1988, some of these traffic problems would be alleviated at present; that the hotel would not have that great an impact on.the traffic problems; but that a second access from this property should be constructed with the next phase. He further stated that the cost of the re-alignment of the intersection should be the responsibility of the city, not the developer and should be considered with the suggestions of the Traff-Pro study. Mr.:Carlisle stated that they are merely.widening the existing drive onto Country Club_Boulevard to three lanes, and that Biskind Development has agreed to pay for improvements to the signalization as'specified by Mr. Boyer at.a cost of approximately $7,000.00 to $9,000.00. _ Mr. Boyer further advised that upon theinitial review of the improvements plans it would appear that there are'roads within the sewer and utility easement. Mr. Carlisle stated that this is true on;many of their properties and they will meet all.the Engineering Department standards. Mr.-Gorris
