They do not want <br />guard rails installed because they believe they would be dangerous for <br />younger children and older children would destroy them. Pir. Bierman <br />is concerned that this section would deteriorate. It was explained to the <br />neighbors that the church had a right to use this section of the road. <br />Mr. DelGuidice stated that if the road does become a problem, the church <br />could put un a control gate at the entrance to their parking lot to prevent <br />traffic from cutting through. Mr. Thomas suggested curbing the drive at <br />the end where the posts will be and putting in speed bumps. Mr. Morgan <br />stated that he had no problem with the asphalt since this is practically <br />a private drive. T. Morgan moved to recommend approval of the proposal <br />by St. Brendan's Church to pave a small section, 60 by 28 foot, for tem- <br />porary use, not as a permanent drive, t.o be constructed of a material in <br />conformity to city specifications for pavement of a parking lot or driveway <br />apron which this would be considered to be, that posts be put in on the <br />east side of this section to prevent motorists traveling through that <br />area, the posts will be adjacent to a six inch curb, will be installed on <br />the eastern end of the paved section, additionally to correct or minimize <br />a recurring dust problem or traffic problem brought up by the residents <br />of this area, posts shall be placed by the developer by the entrance to <br />Georgette Avenue and at the western end of the existing reading trailers <br />to prevent the.vehicular traffic around and through the gravel road <br />currently known as Kenny Lane, also that the developer install several <br />speed bumps along the westernmost driveway which will now exit onto this <br />asphalt apron onto Concord to prevent traffic from speeding through the <br />church property and also to suggest very strongly that the developer <br />install at least one gate to close off the church property when not being <br />used to prevent people from using the church driveways for a cut through, <br />seconded by M. Betts, and unanimously approved. 9, COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> <br />Ord. 88-118: An ordinance providing for the amendment of the Zone Map of the <br />City of North Olmsted, which zone map. is part of the Zoning Code of the City <br />of North Olmsted, by changing the premises hereinafter described from Single <br />Residence C District to Office Building District from certain premises herein- <br />after described, from Multiple Residence District to Office Building District. <br />The Commission had discussed this and recommended approval previously. M. Betts <br />moved to approve Ord. 88-118 as presented, seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously <br />approved. Ord. 88-119: An ordinance vacating a one foot portion of Gypress Drive and a <br />one foot portion of Maplehurst Road where the same abut the Olmsted Township <br />Corporation Line. <br />City Engineer Boyer advised that he was requested by Councilman Wilamosk-Y to <br />draft this ordinance in order to vacate these strips of dedicated roadway at <br />the southern terminus of these streets in order to prevent through traffic <br />from the Oakwood Estates Apartments. R. Bierman moved to approve ordinance <br />88-119 with the suggestion that upon approval by Council barricades be erected <br />immediately, seconded by J. Thomas, and unanimously approved.
