CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - JANUARY 20, 1988 <br />I. ROLL CALLc <br />Mayor Petrigac addressed the Board advising that she was reanpointing <br />T4rs. C as e as Cfl ai rwoman . <br />Chairwoman Case called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. <br />Present: M. Case and B. Zergott <br />Absent: D. Pattison <br />Also present: Building Commissioner D. Conway and Clerk of Commissions <br />B. Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The minutes of December 16, 1987 were not addressed. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />Approved with building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />No items. <br />V. NE[d BUSINESS: <br />1) Columbia Village Apartments, Phase III, (Realtek Industries), located <br />to rear of lots on the north side of Lorain Road between Columbia and <br />Root Roads. <br />Proposal to construct Phase III in existing apartment and condominium <br />complex. (Continued by Planning Commission October 27,"1987. Variance <br />granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals December 2, 1987.) <br />Heard by Planning Commission January 12, 1988. <br />Mr. King, attorney, Mr. Mongello, architect, and Mr. Skenzik,:Realtek <br />Industries, presented color rendering of building. Mr. rtongello explained <br />that dense plantings will separate the apartments from the condominium, <br />consisting of two staggared rows of Austrian Pines planted 10 foot on <br />center on a 4 foot high mounded planting area which will also be planted <br />with shrubs; a mounded area will also be installed on property line <br />adjacent to the adjacent church property and the southern nroperty'line <br />and will consist of Austrian pines planted 10 foot on center; site lighting <br />will be low profile, 8 foot lamps adjacent to the buildings, and 22 foot <br />lights along the drive, all lighting will be directed so as not to flow <br />onto adjacent pronerty; trash dumpster will be screened on three sides <br />with a board on board fence. Materials on building will be Alside, <br />Century Series, in a gray vinyl with white vinyl trim and soffit, roof <br />will be Certainteed in black; awning over entrance will be maroon (no <br />sample presented); individual air conditioning units are planned and have <br />a 2 foot by 4 foot wall penetration beside each balcony; there will be <br />a trellis trim on balconies which will be stained white.
