CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - JUNE 22, 1988 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. <br />Present: T. Gallagher and B. Zergott <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring <br />II. _REVIEW AND CORRECTIOYd OF r1INUTES : <br />B. Zergott moved to accept the minutes of May 18, 1988 as presented, <br />seconded by T. Gallagher, and unanimously approved. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />1) Honors Hotel, Great Northern Corporate Center <br />Apnroved with building plans <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1) Brendan Place, Lorain Road and David Drive <br />Revised landscape plan <br />(Original plans approved as Gareau Office Building March 4, 1987) <br />S. Schill, architect, explained that they are changing their landscape <br />plan on the rear property line, installing additional landscaping on <br />the sides of the b uilding, and at the rear eiitry. Mr. Zergott suggested <br />several changes: replace the cotoneaster f.loral with cotoneaster:anicu-. <br />lida; replace the.andorro juniper with compacit.a youngstown; if the <br />pyramidal "U" means a taxus replace that with a taxus denisformus or <br />pyramidal arborvitae; and replace the pachysandra with an evonamus <br />coloratus. B. Zergott moved to';accept the new landscape design for <br />Brendan Place with the changes suggested, seconded by T. Gallagher, <br />and unanimousl_y approved. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Honors Hotel, Great Northern Corporate Center <br />Proposal to construct hotel in Mixed Use District <br />Heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals June 8, 1988 <br />Referred,from Planning Commission June 14, 1988e <br />Mr. Carlisle explained that the 140 room hotel would be located on <br />the north east corner of Great Northern and Country C1ub Boulevards in <br />the Corporate Center; main entrance will be facing the intersection; <br />service entrance on the north is screened with masonary walls and hotel <br />will eventually be connected with Corporate Center III. The materials, <br />lighting, and colors will be similar to the existing buildings: the <br />dryvit or dryvit-like material will match the existing dryvit (number <br />32-57-2-22-1); the accent brick will differ from the.brick on the other <br />buildings in that it will be in a more medium color (Cherokee Sanford <br />Group, Beauford); outdoor light fixtures will be the same, but lighting
