CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW
MINUTES - NOVEMBER 16, 198$
I. ROLL CALL:
Chairwoman Case called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.
Present: M. Case and B. Zergott
Mr. Gallagher arrived at 5:25 p.m.
II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES:.
M. Case moved to approve the minutes of October 19, 1988 as presented,
seconded by B. Zergott, and unanimously approved.
III. SIGNS:
1) Dr. Philip D. Huffman, 5135 Dover Center Road
Heard later in meeting.
2) Sakura Japanese Restaurant, 26225 Great Northern Shopping Plaza (north)
Withdrawn from agenda, not necessary to review.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
No items
V. NEia BUSINESS:
1) Fish Furniture, 23770 Lorain Road
Revision to plans previously heard by Planning Commission January 26, 1988.
Heard by Board of Zoning Appeals November 2, 1988.
Referred by Planning Commission November 8, 1988.
Mr. Geller, owner, and Mr. Schi11, architect, presented colored rendering
explaining that several minor revisions have been made: a lighted cupola
with a window has been added to the front of the buildingsR windows have
been re-spaced on the building (within one foot of where originally shown);
window above garage door was omitted from rendering, but will be installed:
one window on the rear elevation must be removed; the west wall will be
parged instead of sided since 25 feet of that wall is immediately adjacent
to the building on the next lot and the remainder of the wall is next to
a loading zone. He further explained that because the wall is on the pro-
perty line, they were required to install a block wall which is to be
finished in a stucco material and painted to match the siding. No samples
of materials were presented, but.it was decided that they would be using
a beige siding (ivory was stated with the previous proposal). Mr. Schill
will submit samples of the siding and paint with the color numbers prior
to the Planning Commission meeting. In reference to the landbanking of
parking spaces as suggested by the Planning Commission, they advised that
they would be making a decision in the Spring when the lot was to be paved.
There is a planter at present under their sign which will be moved west
when the addition is constructed. Mr. Zergott suggested that the planter
could be widened: Mr. Conway advised that the sign is non-conforming and
if it is to be relocated or the faces changed, a variance would be required,
