RO.LL CALL r Chairman Kazak called the meeting to order at 7:30 p,m. <br />Present: R. Burk, B. Schulz,'D. Spoerke,!and J. Kazak <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conxaay and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />B. Schulz moved to approve the minutes of,Apri1 28, 1988 as submitted, <br />seconded by D. Spoerke, and unanimously approved. <br />R. Burk moved to approve the minutes of the meeting that was recessed on <br />June 23, 1988 and adjourned on June 29, 1988, seconded by D. Spoerke, <br />and unanimously approved. <br />III. COTMNICATIONS: <br />A form was received that has to be filled out in order to use the facilities <br />of the City Complex. It was determined that in November the Board would <br />have to change the meeting date to November 17th and a form would be submitted. <br />IV. HEARINGS: <br />1) Ron Adams, 22971 Virginia Ave. <br />Request permission to add patio enclosure to home which is on a lot <br />less than 50 feet wide. Permission required by Ord. 2086. <br />Building Commissioner Conway advised that after he had reviewed the <br />ordinance he has interpreted that anyistructure which is on a lot that <br />is 50 feet wide or less and is being altered must get approval from <br />this Board. There is no variance toithe Zoning Code involved. The <br />Board agreed with Mr. Conway that this requirement should be discussed <br />during the review of the building codes which will be scheduled for <br />next year. Chairman Kazak administered the oath to Mr. Adams, the owner, <br />and Mr. Long, representing American Patio Enclosures, who explained that <br />the addition is an unheated, aluminium patio enclosure with insulated, <br />low "E" olass and will be on an insulated wood deck with piers or footers <br />which will be obscured with a skirting. It was clarified that this is <br />merely an enclosed porch and not considered as living area. D. Spoerke <br />moved to approve the proposal as presented, seconded by B. Schulz, and <br />unanimously approved. <br />2) Hennie Hones, sublot 54, 5532 Quail Run <br />Request variance to install class "B" flue in single dwelling for <br />appliances not requiring a class "A" flue. Class "A" flue required by <br />Section 1304.04(c) of the building code. <br />Prior to the app.licants being called into the room, Mr. Conway explained <br />that a class "A" flue has a triple wall and class "B" is a double wall. <br />the city has a supplemental ordinance requiring a class "A" flue or a <br />masonry chimney whenever there is a basement, cellar or utility room
