ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW APRIL 19, 1989 PAGE 2
the proposed signage which arethe standard Honda signs, B. Zergott
moved to accept the plans as submitted bearing in mind the suggestions
made about the hedge along the north property line and working with the
adjacent neighbor, seconded by Mrs. Case, and unanimously approved,
2) Bucknell Building, 27709 Lorain Road
Exterior renovation to existing building.
Referred from Planning April 11, 1989.
Mr. Porter, architect, and Bud and Bert Haas, owners, presented color
rendering, picture of victorian light fixture and paint chips of the
colors to be used. He explained that they did not have the color
numbers but would submit those later, but that they. were.using mostly
the Benjamine Moore Historical series in off white, dark green, maroon,
and rust; the store fronts will have Pella windows with frames clad in a
matching green and new french doors; rear wall will be painted, and
rear entries will be installed by the tenants but they will have to
follow the criteria of the light fixtures and trim (door colors could
vary); and all signage will be handcarved redwood. Mr. Porter advised
that in the second phase of the renovations they will be doing the site
work, sidewalks, and plantings, and hopefully they will qualify for
a revitalization program which should be in effect by June. Mr. Zergott
suggested that they put planters beside the building, Mr. Teramano
the neighbor who lives behind the parking lot, presented a sketch showing
this building, the parking lot, and the location of his house and pointed
out that there is a gravel area on Porter Road where cares park illegally
and also there is a dangerous situation when cars pull out of this drive.
He would also like some kind of a barrier between his property and the
parking lot. Mr. Porter pointed out that this.property belongs to the
medical building and the owners merely lease 13 parking spaces from them,
so they would not have the authority to build a fence in this area.
Mr. Porter clar.i£ied that painting the rear wall will be.done in the
second phase of the project, and that they cannot guarantee when this
will be but it should be before the end of the season. B. Zergott moved
to accept the renovations as presented on the condition that Mr. Porter
submits the number of the paints to be used on the building and also for
the window frames, seconded by M. Case, and unanimously approved.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
M. Case, Chairwoman B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
