. ._._•
ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW
DECEMBER 61 1989
PAGE 2
way. In reference to the landscape plan, Mr. Newberry advised that the
buffer will remain natural and will be reinforced where it is sparce with
red maples, scotch pines, and flowering trees as accents. The interior
of the complex will have some shade trees around the parking lot, the
ends of the buildings and garage.s will be screened with pines and lower
shrubs; juniper hedges and.various low plantings will be installed around
the, air canditioning units; dumpster fencing will be screened with stepped
down plantings with pines and low shrubs. He presented a typical building
planting plan explaining that it is not meant to hide the facade, the
entrances will have magolia, pear, or crapapples and possibly some yew or
junipers along the walks with shade trees spaced along the buildings. They
are not planning zxtensive plantings around the foundations. There will be
some interior plantings in the atriums. The front of the site will be
more heavily landscaped with large shade trees lining tlie drive, ornamental
crabapples around the pool and deck areas, willow trees around the lake,
low planting and po.ssibly some trellises. Mr. Zergott studied the photo-
graphs of the landscaping in other complexes and stated that he like what
they had done. The first drawing presented was satisfactory, but he would
like the other drawing labeled and wTth more detail. He would further
like a plan for all three types of buildings and more detail on the land-
scaping around the steeple at the entrance way. The developers agreed
to forward this information to Mr. Zergot prior to the next Planning
Commission meeting so that he can approve it. B. Zergott moved to accept
the project as presented with the condition that we get more definite land-
scaping plans for all three building types and the entrance area, seconded
by M. Case, and unanimously approved. The Board complimented the developers
for the excellent way in which they revised the plans.
IVa ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
M. Case, Chairwoman
B. Oring, Clerk of Commissions
