O'
In response to Mr. Betts' questions, Assistant Law Director Dubelko
advised that he and Law Director Gareau had visited Lauren Hills
Plaza three times. It was their conclusion that this is a minor
enforcement problem and that there are only one or two residents
who still have problems with the development. He stated that the
buffer area between this shopping center and the residential area
is one of the best in the city. The main problems are to make sure
that. Marhatten Deli keeps their kitchen door closed and that they
take their garbage out the side entrance. Mr. Thomas pointed out
that when winter comes the trees will not be much of a buffer. Mr.
Dubelko responded that the original plans call for planting 27 or
28 additional pine trees which have not been planted as yet. Mr.
Betts stated that there are frequently trucks in the emergency
drive which was not to be allowed. He maintained that the
residents in the area believe that the city negotiates conditions
on a development, but does not enforce them. Mr. Dubelko stated
that the Law Department did send a letter which threatened to
revoke their occupancy if they did not comply with the conditions
imposed upon the development.
Mr. Betts also questioned if the P1arLn;ng Commission could discuss
a recycling program and policy. Mr. Dubelko does not believe that
this is the purview of the Commission, and should be up to tne
Council.
IX. ADJOURNMIINT:
T. Morgan moved to excuse the absence of B. Gorris, seconded by
J. Thomas, and unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
5 ,
