-.. . __.r
3) Halleen Chevrolet, 27932 Lorain Road.
Proposal to install chain link fence on property.
Referred by Planning'Commissions 1Vovember 13, 1990.
Mr. Giesser explained that Halleen had a security problem on the north west
corner of the lot and they want to extend a . 6 foot fence up to the northern
gate on the property. The Planning Commission agreed that they needed the
fence, but they did not like the chain link fence. The fence contractor
suggested that the entire fence, including the pipes, the wraps, and posts, be
coated in brown or green plastic. He presented pictures of the green coated
fence around tennis courts. Mr. Giesser stated that the brick columns
suggested by Planning Commission was too expensive, and he stated that these
coltunns on the Burger King property were badly damaged. Mr. Gallagher stated
that he has used this fence and it held up wella Mre Zergott suggested that
some kind of landscaping could be installed between the fence and the sidewalk
Since they want visibility, Mr. Zergott stated that some low landscaping would
improve the appearance. Mr. Gallagher pointed out that the low landscaping
would keep vanda.ls away from the fence, explaining that they had used
hawtYiorns. It was agreed that the fence should be green and there should be
plantings, 2 feet or less on the outside of the fence to soften it. Mr.
Zergott suggested plantings like junipers or mugo pine. T. Gallagher moved
that the fence be, 6 faot green with thegoly vinyl coating and that is
including the.posts,.etc. with the recorrmiendation that there be some shrubs no
higher than 2 foot high between the sidewalk and the fence,. seconded by B.
Zergott, and unanimously approved.
VI.
