- - . . .1
that a material called alucobond will be installed on the building in_silver
and the green band will be plastic. Tlie canopy will be illuminated with down
lights and a sign on the canopy will be 8 square feet. The existing split face
block will remain. Since adding the material will cut down on the width of the
drive around the building, they are planning to close it by olocking it off
with posts; however, they would like the option of widening the drive and
using it at a later date, if necessary. In.reference to the.signs., Mr. Davis
stated that this is under another department and he believes that they have
their permits. Mr. Zergott would like to see the driveway turned into a grass
area with some shade trees. Mr. Davis reiterated that the company would like
the option of widening it and using it as a..drive. If they elect not to
widen it, they would have no problem with making it green area. B. Zergott
moved to accept the Car Wash proposal as submitted with the condition that
instead of putting in posts in front of the driveway that grass area with some
shade trees, if it is used as a driveway it must be repaired, seconded by Y.
Sohn, and unanimously approved.
The members decided to look at the 2 stations at Great Northern and Clague
since they are the same. The building will be wrapped in the silver
alucobond; the canopies will be green alucobond with the letters B.P. The.
buildirg will probably be downlighted under the soffit, but they might back
light-it. He explained that all of their lighting is no-spill and is directed*
on to.the property. There will be down lights in the canopy and the "B.P."
will be lighted. Mr. Davis explained that there may be air conditioning imits
on the roof, but it would be concealed. T. Gallagher moved to. approve the B.
P. Stations at Lorain and Great Northern and at Lorain and Clague 'Roads as
submitted, seconded by Y. Sohn, and unanimously approved.
Mr. Davis presented pictures of the station at Lorain and Stearns Roads, where
they are using the alucobond panels, but the building will not be wrapped
since there was little room to .do it. The doors will kie painted to.coordinate
with the silver. The members are concerned about the rear of the building
which has a bin.for storage added to around the wall. Mr. Sohn believed that
some.thing should be done with this wall to incorporate this design starting.at
the rest room door and going back. He believes that the Board should see what
is to be done. Mr. Davis stated rhat this is the way they will probably be
doing the buildings from now on, since.the alucobond is quite expensive, but
they will be nainting that wall gray, Mr. Zergott stated that if they put in
the alucobond, they would be hiding the pipes,.etc. Mr. Gallagher suggested
that the wall be brought up and perhaps. the mansard be extended to ma.tch. Mr.
Sohn agreed and drew a sketch on a picture. Mr. Davis stated that this
suggestion.would have to be taken back to the company. It was suggested that
the 4 foot wall be brought up to the same height as the mansard, and extend
the mansard and then wrap the alucobond around the back of the building. Mr;
Gallagher explained that Stearns Road was to be widened and this would be
visible,. and Mr. -Zergo.tt stated that this is fully-visible from Stearns Road.
It was stated that the rear of•.tlie building be treated exactly the same as
the front, and it was suggested that an overhead door.could be installed to
get to the trash container. It-was decided that Mr. Davis would present a
plan to the Building Department -and.it would be forwarded to Mr. Sohn for his
approval. Y. Sohn moved to approve the proposal for Lorain and Stearns Road
with the condi.tion that the rear of the buiiding be treated the same as the
front and as explained at the meeting, that the plans be forwarded to him for
approval after they are submitted to the Building Department, seconded by T.
Gallagher and tmanimously approved. .
3
