?
BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS APRIL 4, 1990 PAGE 2 •
both neighbors. Mr. Mortach presented a letter.requesting a fence on_the
rear of the property. Ctiairman Bugala advised that the Board cannot address
this request since they are only dealing with the variance. He read the
Planning Commission minutes of July 11, 1989 in which the contractor was ad-
vised that he would need a variance to display cars in the front setback
and which also explained that the adjacent dealership had received a variance
to display in the front because it was an older business without a landscape
buffer and would have been just 50 feet of paved lot. Law Director Gareau
advised that it was mentioned that some variances had been granted when eXtra
green area was added and pods installed to display a few cars, but they
apparently chose not to seek a variance. Miss McLaughlin stated that she
would prefer that they display new cars in front rather than using that
;area for parking customers' older cars or for displaying used cars. Mr.
Severin stated that the builder who represented the proposal at Planning
Commission, did not advise them that they could not display cars in front.
Airo Grace pointed out that the board had granted a variance for the sign, but
displaying cars was not mentioneda After some discussion, it was decided
that the proposal could be continued in order for them to return with a
modified plan with 35 feet of grass area containing a few.pods for display-
ing cars. T. Restifo moved to continue the Metro Lexus request to display
automobiles in the front setback in order for the manager to return next
month with revised plans, seconded by B. Grace, and unanimously approved.
Request continued.
4. Richard and Dorothy Wellman, 26953 Kennedy Ridge Extension
Request for variance (1123.12).
