C. <br />t <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />PLANNING COMKSSION <br />MINUTES - MAY 14, 1991 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gorris called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />Present: M. Betts, L. Orlowski, A. Skoulis, J. Thomas, and B. Gorris. <br />Absent: R. Bowen and T. Morgan. <br />Also Present: Assistant Law Director Dubelko, City Engineer Deichmann, Chief <br />Building Inspector Sanker, and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />Mr. Orlowski made several corrections to the minutes of April 23, 1991: <br />Page 2, 4 lines from the bottom of the page between the words "buffers" and <br />"also with" insert "Vice=Chairman Larry Orlowski amended the motion giving the <br />developers the opportunity to extend the wood fence the entire length of their <br />property which borders to residents on Fleharty Road and not just to Mattress <br />Warehouse." <br />On page 4, imder the Smythe Cramer request, the second line which reads <br />"facing McKenzie Road was zoned residential..." should be deleted since in the <br />15th line the City Engineer stated "...this is a11 one parcel and is all <br />General Retail." <br />Under the same proposal, Page 4, 10 lines from the bottom of the page, insert <br />between "building." and "Mr. Morgan"..."Vice Chairman Larry Orlowski stated he <br />had first hand experience with the real estate industry and sympathized with <br />Mr. Brink's parking problems, however, he would like to come to a meeting of <br />the minds between the recommendations of the A.R.B. and Smythe Cramer's <br />business needs". <br />Mr. Thomas noted that regarding zoning of the property, the developer had <br />made the statement that the lot facing McKenzie Road was residential. <br />J. Thomas moved to accept the minutes of April 23, 1991 as corrected, seconded <br />by L. Orlowski, and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMQVT REQUESTS: <br />1) Office Warehouse, 4706 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Renovation to store front and addition of loading dock on the former Kiddie <br />City unit in Olmsted Plaza. <br />Continued from Planning Commission meeting of April 23, 1991. <br />Variances granted by Board of Zoning Appeals May 1, 1991. <br />Mr. Brown, owner, Mr. McKee, manager, and Mr. Mongello, architect, presented <br />revised plans. Mr. Mongello explained that the variance for the truck dock <br />was granted, and the owners have decided to install a fence down their entire <br />westerly property line from Brookpark proceeding north to Lorain Road, not <br />1
