CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARCHITECTURAL BOARD OF REVIEW <br />MINUTES - JUNE 19, 1991 <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. <br />Present: B. Zergott and Y. Sohn <br />Absent: M. Case and T. Gallagher <br />Also Present: Building Commissioner Conway and Clerk of Commissions Oring. <br />II. REVIEnT AIVD CORRECTION OF MINUTES : <br />B. Zergott moved to accept the minutes of May 22, 1991 as presented, seconded <br />by Y. Sohn, and unanimously approve. <br />III. SIGNS: <br />Signs presented with building plans. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />No items. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1) Stylin' Concepts, 29919 Lorain Road. <br />Proposal to construct two addition and exterior renovation to existing <br />building. <br />Referred by Planning Commission June 11, 1991. <br />Mr. Case, owner, and Mr0 Kaczmarcek, designer, explained they will be <br />constructing two additions to the existing masonry building: a 20 by 30 foot <br />show room to the side and a 30 by 50 foot warehouse (a pole building) to the <br />rear; the existing building will be used for bffice space. They presented <br />photographs of the adjacent homes. The existing building will be will be faced <br />with a stucco material, with glass block installed around the corner; clear <br />glass in the show room; and tinted (black) glass in the office area. There <br />will be a space frame canopy (similar to that which is on the St. John West <br />Shore Hospital entrance) on the front elevation with mill finished alUmintun <br />columns. They presented samples of the glass block and the aluninum, <br />explaining that they would like to reflect a simple clear cut image with as <br />few ornaments as possible. The stucco wi11 be a Synergy white, the space frame <br />will probably be a red, and roof shingles and window trim will be black. Mr. <br />Sohn would like to.lmow a definite color. Mr. Ka.zcmarcek agreed to a primary <br />red. The signs will have some blues and greens in them. The rear addition will <br />be texture 111 painted white with white garage doors, with anly a small amount <br />of the gable visible from Lorain Road. The board on board fences on either <br />side will be left natural. Mr. Ka.czmarcek clarified that the Planning <br />Commission had suggested board on board, but they would be agreeable to any <br />fence that would architecturally match the building. Building Commissioner <br />Conway explained that the Commission mainly wanted a solid fence, if they <br />1
