burning bush so that area will be shielded all year (later on he suggested
that they could put some burning bush in with the pines if they wanted to); he
recommended replacing the Gold Tip Juniper which get very large with Gold
Coast or Old Gold which only grow to 2 or 3 foot; since all the plants on the
front are deciduous, he suggested replacing the potentilla with taxus browneye
or wardeye as well as planting some annuals for color. Mr. Sohn is still not
too satisfied with the color. Mr. Vannelli stated that since the orange was
part of their logo they chose the terra-cotta because it was similar but more
subdued. Mr. Sohn agreed that it was an improvement over the original and
conceded that with the color of Dryvit it would probably be satisfactory. Mr.
Gallagher suggested that they might prefer using pavers instead of grass in
the tree.lawn area. B. Zergott moved to accept the plans with the changes that
were proposed, seconded by T. Gallagher, and unanimously approved.
2) Galati's Auto Service, 27539 Lorain Road.
Revision to previously approved plans for renovation to building.
Originally approved by Plarming Commission May 27, 1986.
Referred by Planning Commission May 14, 1991.
Mr. Mongello, architect, and Mr. Galati, owner presented revised site plans
which show the four trees in the front moved to the rear of the property. They
presented photographs of the existing building. There will be an area enclosed
with a 6 foot, 6 inch high board an board fence where they will store cars and
keep the dumpster. The building will have 2 colors of Dryvit, manor white on
the lower portion and adobe accent rnIInber 29 will be above with mauve tiles
around the bottom; the shingles will be sunset brick and there will be a teal
accent around the doors frames and the overhead doors will match the manor
white Dryvit. The south and east block walls will be painted to match the
Dryvit. A portion of_the existing canopy will be removed. In reference to the
landscape plan, Mr. Zergott suggested that the trees that were relocated be
put back into the front, pointing out that there were several trees in the
rear. Mr. Galati believed the trees would block visibility to the building and
the sign. Mr. Zergott pointed out that it is possible to see through these
trees, but agreed they could block the sign. Mr. Gallagher agreed that the
trees could hinder the sight line. After some discussion, it was agreed to
plant two honey locust, one each in the east and west planting beds (western
most bed will have to be enlarged); to change the Armstrong and Carpet
juniper to Blue Chip juniper, and to change the cotoneaster in the west
landscape bed to burning bush. (Mr. Zergott indicated these changes on the
plan that he signed). Mr. Galati complained that there was a C.E.I. pole on
the property which he would like moved. Mr. Conway will look into this. T.
Gallagher moved to approve the plans as recomnended, seconded by Y. Sohn, and
unanimously approved.
VI.
