The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Faraj. Mr. Gomersall stated that he saw the shed and cotald <br />not tmderstand why it could not have heen placed 10 feet away from the line as <br />shown on the permit. Mr. Faraj explained that the contractor put it there because <br />his land slopes down slightly. Mr. Gomersall advised that the adjacent sheds are <br />in line with Mra Faraj's so it was difficult to object to this request. Mr. <br />Restifo had no problem with it. R. Gomersall moved to grant the request to Walid <br />Faraj for a 4 foot rear set back variance for the existing tool shed, seconded by <br />T. Restifo, and tmani.mously approved. Variance granted. <br />T'ai Chi Ch'uan 29460 Lorain Rd. <br />Request for variance 1123.12 . Request variance for second prohibited pole sign <br />on property. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.22(a). (Also note location of <br />sign does not conform to Section 1162.12, if regulations for ground and pylon <br />signs were used, a 3 foot, 8 inch variance from front property line and a 20 foot <br />variance would be required from side property line). <br />No representative present. The request will be delayed until February. <br />Chairman Gomersall stated that since there was to be no January meeting election <br />of offices would be held this eveni.ng. <br />J. Maloney moved that Mr. Robert Gomersall be nominated as chairman for the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals, seconded by T. Restifo, and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Gomersall is chairman. <br />R. Gomersall moved to nominate Mr. Thomas Restifo as vice chairman of the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals, seconded by J. Maloney, and unanimously approved. <br />Mr. Restifo is vice chairman. <br />Mr. Gomersall stated that he seconded what Mr. Restifo said at the beginning of <br />the meeting, and that he too appreciates the help given by the Law Director, the <br />Building Commissioner and the Clerk. <br />Building Commissioner Conway advised that his department is getting requests to <br />blank out portions of wall sign with an opaque material in order to reduce <br />signage, but to avoid buying a new sign cabinet. He believed that this would be <br />satisfying the intent of the code. He advised that there could be some damage to <br />the wall if the entire cabinet was removed. The members did not object. <br />In reference to the motions, Mr. Gomersall questioned what is actually needed in <br />a motion. Law Director Gareau stated that the members should move to grant the <br />variance and that it is not necessary to quote the Section rnunbers of the code <br />violations.
