explained that the lights would be in a shoe box type fixture which would
control the glare. He clarified that if they used the 30 foot poles the metal
halide lights would be 400 watts and that the lights would be on a timer and
turned off at 11:00 p.m. Mr. Gallagher stated that if these fixtures were
deeper the light could be better directed and have less glare. Mr. Zergott clid
not believe the height would be a problem if the lights were timed. Mr.
Gallagher pointed out that the lights eould be controlled so that only one area
would remain lighted, if employees stayed late. The developers will present a
deeper fixture to the Planning Commission. B. Zergott moved to accept the Moen
proposal with the recommendations that the overhead doors be painted to riatch
the granite, that a working landscaping plan be presented including the
landscaping around the signs before the proposal goes to Plaming Commission,
that the coping at the granite will match the granite; that the wash on the
building and the lights on the sign are to be controlled (to the building and to
the signs); that either deeper wells be used on the lights to control the glare
and so the light bulbs cannot be seen or that the lights be installed on the 20
foot poles; the frames around the skylight must be dark bronze anodized
aluminum; and that the concept of the sign be approved with the recommendation
that the variance be granted, seconded by T. Sohn, and lmanimously approved. Mr.
Zergott advised the developers that if the landscape plan is submitted to the
Building Department before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, he will review before the
Plann;ng Commission meeting that night, Monday, May 4th.
VI.
