CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />. Discuss with the InduGtrial Park landowners the possible establishment of a set of restriciive <br />covenants enforced ny the private landowners that would further regulate the appearance of new <br />buildings and accessory structures within the Industrial Park. <br />. Develop with th@ CIC ornmotional brochures and a video that would encourage the attraction of <br />new industry to the Inaus-ria,' -Park. <br />Goal No_ 3= Retain the city's existing commercial and. industrial businesses. <br />. Conduct an annual survev of business attitudes and needs in North Olmsted that would enable <br />businesses to express concerns and recommendations to the city. <br />¦ Assign a single individual to serve as a liaison from city hall to local businesses that could <br />resolve problems and address concerns. <br />. Promote the city's Enterprise Zone and New Community Reinvestment Act as incentives that <br />exempt tax increases for improvements to commercial and industrial properties. <br />. Emphasize to businesses and to the local Chamber of Commerce the many advantages of <br />keeping existing businesses and industries in North Olmsted through discussions and potential <br />newsletters. <br />Goal No_ 4: Identify.opportunities for potential redevelopment of marginal uses in order to <br />enhance the city's tax base. <br />. Utilize and implement the recommendations presented in this Master Plan for redeveloping <br />Stearns Road south of Lorain Road, the vacant industrial areas in the western portion of the city, <br />as well as the western end of Lorain Road. <br />;Goal No_ 5: Maximize the stability of employment and income generation by promoting the <br />diversification of employment opportunities. <br />. Encourage the full development of North Olmsted Industrial Park. <br />. Encourage ?'dditional office development in and next to the Great Northern Technology Park. <br />s Encourage state-of-the-att vocational training by the Board of Education for adults as well as <br />students. <br />GOALS FOR REDUCING TRAFFIC CONGESTION <br />Goal No_ 7: Promote .the orderly flow of traff ic and the reduction of existing traffic congestion. <br />. Implement the capital improvement projects designed to improve traffic flow including the <br />computerization of traffic sianals and the construction of the following transportation-related <br />projects: - <br />• Clague Road widening- <br />• Widening of Great Northern Boulevard <br />• Stearns Road Widening and Reconstruction <br />4
