?.
VI. COMNIITTEE REPORTS:
Mr. Skoulis' committee which is studying the Wittlatch Developments has taken
videos of several projects and will show to the members at a later meeting.
VII: NEW BUSINESS:
Chairman Gorris has a problem with the Marc's addition in Great Northern Plaza
North; the castle roof of the old Children's Place is still there and should be
removed and the existing mansard should be extended. Mr. Conway has discussed
this with the owner and he intends to remove the roof, however no.specific plans
have been subr,Litted. Mr. Gorris also pointed out that the brick front still has
traces of the arches that were on this unit and he believed that these should be
removed. Also, the west side of the center has never been striped or posted as a
no parking zone. Mr. Thomas maintained that the convex mirror that had been at
the front of this drive to permit.visibility to the rear to see oncoming cars has
been removed and never replaced. The Commissionhad also requested a stop sign at
the corner where the pet store is to prevent ca.rs from driving straight through.
Mr. Gorris was advised that the Frankie's sign on Great Northern had received a
variance. r1r. Thomas advised that the Nightfall Nightclub customers are parking
behind the building where it had been prohibited. He also noted that the property
is for sale, and T7rs. 0'Rourke questioned if that meant that none of the plans
that had been approved were to be implemented. Mr. Conway will look into this and
advised that the performance bond was to be put up when the work was started, and
it has not been started as yet.
VIII. OLD BUSINESS:
Regarding the Master Plan, Mr. Orlowski stated that parcel 45, behind the
nursing home, was to remain single family, not senior citizen zoning as stated.
Mr. Skoulis noted that the zoning recorrunendations shown on the map for parcel 37
Brookpark Road, was for Mixed Use "D"., when the Connnission had recommended it
should remain as zoned. Mr. Gorris asked a11 member to put their comments in
writirg and also asked Mr. Dubelko to review the sample ordinance from Garfield
Heights accepting their p1an. Mr. Skoulis also was concerned because the
extension of the rapid transit red line was mentioned several times and it was
only mentioned once that the Planning.Commission had not recorrIInended it. r1r.
Thomas advised that the CounCy Plan ha:d provided him with the floppy disks of the
entire plan. He will present these to the city after all changes have been
incorporated. Mr. Skoulis believed that this plan is far superior to the others
that he have seen and well worth the cost.
IX. ADJOURNTENT:
Mrs. 0'Rourke will not be present at the next meeting.
B. Gorris moved to excuse the absence of Mr. Tallon, seconded by Mr. Thomas, arid
unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 p.m.
i
B. Gorris,
30-?-? e?D,
B. Oring, Clerk oj
6
