? • _..:
and agreed to fill those in and also agreed to a 5 feet area between the parking
lot curb and the fence which would allow room to maintain the grass. The city
forester will be asked to specify where the additional trees are needed. Mr.
Stoyanov stated that they had filled in with additiorial trees during the
construetion of the Lexu.s building. Mr. StephinA the neighbor to the rear,
believed the additional evergr.eens would-not only improve the aesthetics of his
property, but would add to the appearanee of the Lexus property. Mr. Stoyanov
asked that the commission reconsider eliminating the parking space at the south
east corner in view of the fact that the construction would be done Under the
supervision of a registered landscape architect, who would use every means
available to preserve the two treeso Mr.. Gorris questioned the need for this
space and since it is not marked customer parking, it could become another
display pod. The forester did not indicate landscaping in place of the space, but
grass could be planted. L. Orlowski moved to approve the Metro Lexus Infinity
proposal, 28450 Lorain Road, to construct an Infinity dealership adjacent to the
PX;sting Metro Lexus dealership incorporating all of the previous discussion of
the Architectural Review Board to have no mounding, but a 6 foot high, board on
board fence which should be 5 feet from the curbing with the 20 foot high light
poles with 400 watt bulbs on the east side of the building and the 1,000 watt
bulbs in the front with shielded fixtures. The commission has required the
removal of the two parking spaces at the south east area near the display pods as
Mr. Wendell, the forester, has stated in his correspondence, and the commission
would also like to see additional spruce and pine trees that would mesh with the
plantings behind the Nissan dealer to fill in some of the bare spots behind the
Infinity and Lexus dealer in the na.tural vegetation area and that gates be
installed on the board on board fence so that this area can be maintained. The
commission further requests that the forester be involved in the additi:onal
planting of the buffer area and ask-- that he clarify if he wants additional
landscaping in the parking spaces that are being eliriinated. All previous
recommendations of the Planning Commission must be included, specifically that
the handicapped spaces must be moved closer to the entrance from where they are
shown on the plan, seconded by A. Skoulis, and unanimously approved. During the
motion, it was decided that since the Nissan agency was owned separately, the
commission could not request any upgrading of the landscaping west of the Nissan
building at this time. Since that landscaping needs some upgrading perhaps that
coul.d be addressed through the Building Department.
2) National City Banlc, 4608 Great Northern Blvd.
Proposal to install Automatic Teller Ma.chine in parking lot and review of site
plan.
