He is
disrupting a public meetinga Mr. Benik stated that the meeting did not progress
in an orderly manner, he was not given iegitimate reasons why they recommended
against this. Mr. Gorris apol.ogized to the audience and stated that there would
be a recess tmtil the police could be called. He asked that the clerk call the
police. During the recess, Mr. Benik continued to talk about what the Assistant
City Engineer had said and asked if there was a city engineer an the panel. The employee parking area has been
removed and the gravel parking area will be paved. The other variances were
granted on July 7th by the Board of Zoning Appeals. Texture 111 is planned for
the addition, but the detached building will be steel sided. Mr. Phillips offered
to put a shingled roof on this buildi.ng and match the color of the vertical
siding as closely as possible. It was clarified that there will be no new curb
cuts and the ingress/egress to.the property will remain the same. A. Skoulis
moved to send the proposal to build an addition to an existing building and
construct a free standing storage building behind the addition for Stylin'
Concepts, 29919 Lorain Road, to the Architectural Review Board with the notation
that the contractor offered to put a shingled roof on the rear building, and also
to forward to the Safety Department for their input, seconded by L. Orlowski, and
unanimously approved.
Mr. Gorris called a short reeess while the Wal-Mart developers distributed
revised plans.
After the meeting reconvened, Mr. Thomas explained to the audience that the
Planning Commission members were unpaid volunteers who are residents of the city.
They volunteer approximatel.y 20 hours every month. None of the members have any
specific credentials except what they have learned from living, driving and
shopping in North Olmsted. It is the members' job to make sure that the
developments in North Olmsted meet the codes and ordinances of the city, they
must stay within those parameters. He further mentioned that there is a vacancy
on the commission if anyone is interested, and asked that during the next
discussion the audience keep the emotional levels down.
6
